My boy is due the very end of March and I just realised I don't really know what clothes I'll need for him! My first boy was born in the middle of a hot summer, so he wore either just a nappy or a short sleeved onesie.... I've just realised how easy we had it! I've just sorted out and washed clothes from #1 and I have about 30 short sleeved onesies (we were given all of them, didn't buy any!!!) and not that much of anything else (a few bits here and there).

So April mummies, I would love your help... what were your staple items for your newborn? What did they wear:
1) every day around home
2) if you felt like dressing them up a bit (boys) when you went out
3) to bed at night (he will be wrapped)

TIA

Samantha was born end of April 07 and it was HOT!! She basically lived in short sleeved onsies and singlets/nappies around home for the first month until the weather started to cool down. At night she wore the same but wrapped in a swaddle as well with a very light blanket.

Weather is a bit changeable in April...

On the cooler days

At home: Long sleeve onsies (with feet)
Out: The cute long sleeve onsies (with feet and socks underneath) and a knitted cardigan and beanie.
Bed: Nightie and socks
Short Sleeve body suit underneath all of the above, as he got a bit older I would put him in cute L/S bodysuits and pants...

On the warmer days

At home: Short sleeve onsies and socks
Out: The cute long sleeve onsies (with feet no socks).
Bed: Nightie
Singlet on underneath all of the above.

I dont remember it being warm enough outside to not have long sleeves etc but it was inside on most april days....but our house living room is all glass so if the sun is shining it is hot.

Jake is a hot bubba too, so not sure if that makes a difference...

The other babies in my coffee group all seemed to have layers on so maybe it was just my child

Andrew was born in April 04. It was a mixture with the weather. Mostly long arm and leg all in ones. We did get given a cool jeans and t shirt combo for him as a new born and he wore that in May for my dad's birthday.

Liz if you wantsome newborn clothes for that time ofyear let me know you can have what I have as I no longer need them.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Liz - Amy was born a the end of May so it was a bit colder but the most useful thing that I had for her was the Bobux mercot body suits. They are nicer to wear than wool but warmer than just cotton.

My NB and 0 - 3 size ones are currently on loan to Bobbie but I am sure that Morgan has grown out of then by now. I could ask her to pass them on to you if you like?

JC that would be wonderful, when Morgan's grown out of them - thank you so much! It's so crazy what you have to buy for such a short amount of time eh. And if this boy is anything like his brother, he's gonna be big and outgrow clothes quickly!

Liz when I go back to Palmy I will go through them and send some up to you. Message me your address here or FB and I will send them your way.
