Topic: Childcare - Howick area Posted: 03 February 2010 at 12:20pm |
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good day care centre in the howick, pakuranga, botany area??
I am planning on going back to work in April / May and would like to start checking them out now and get Baylee enrolled.
I am quite nervous about getting her into daycare at such a young age but need to do it.
Any help would be great - thanks

Don't know any good centre in that area, but do know that barnardo's kidstart homebased childcare is excellent in that area.
Have you thought of homebased care?
Especially for an under 2 year old, i would put the boys in HBC if i had too.and avoid a big centre. i'm an ECE teacher
goodluck. Look around, go for lots of visits and trust your gut. look at staff turn over (especially with teh babies) and ratios.
Also read their ERO (education review office) from
mininsrty of Education reports. ERo visits centres every 3 years, avalible online at www.ero.govt.nz

I am going back to work when Hunter is 6 months old, and initially though about day care but I am leaning towards home based care for a year or two. Ive only looked into Porse, but there seem to be heaps of them now.

Thanks I want to look into Home based care as well just because of the ratio - seems a bit better.
Caitlynsmygirl - whats your friends mums name? My older daughter's aunt works there so I was looking at that as my first option :-)

Bearpark . Child care Kohimarama and child care Mt Eden are good day care centers in this area. They offer comfortable environment to the kids and take care them very well. Try out those.
