Definitely pay attention to bub's movements. Him slowing down can be the first sign of trouble. 10 movements a day is what you need. If you are having trouble keeping track, note them down on your hand or something
I haven't had any trouble detecting the movements, so maybe just take some time to focus on your tum and figure out what the movements feel like?
If baby isn't moving, drink a glass of iced water and lie down for half an hour. If that doesn't get a response, call your MW.
I've had one episode of monitoring after baby had a quiet period. I now keep ice cubes in the freezer just in case I need a cold drik!
