Lately at night I've been getting this horrible pain in my rib area, and i can't move or it hurts so bad!

Could he be kicking my ribs or is this something else??

Ive just read about pre eclampsia and you get intense upper abdominal pain?

Where is Imogen? She gets this I think so probably knows.

I get sore ribs, not from being kicked but more because EVERYTHING is jammed up on there and my ribs have no option but to try and expand. But it's not an unbareable pain. Just uncomfortable.

Black Cohosh Side Effects - Breast-feeding or pregnant women should not take black cohosh. Large amounts (over several grams daily) of black cohosh can cause abdominal pain, dizziness, headaches, and nausea.

This is in 5-W which iam taking at the moment. I have all of those symptoms!

Oh gosh, most of the things in 5-W they say should not be taken during pregnancy! (ive sort of thread jacked my own thread haha)

Thats quite interesting. I've heard of the 5W stuff but have never looked into it or even considered going to get it.

I have been struggling with pretty horrid rib pains since about 25 weeks. I was diagnosed with costochondritis.

I would definately contact your MW tho and get your BP checked cause it definatly could be the starts of preeclampsia.

Where abouts is the pain exactly??

Its a root thats in 5-W, yeah i thought oh i'll have a look and see whats in them and found that most of it "Don't take when pregnant" surely they wouldn't put it in the pills if its that unsafe.. strange though!

Oh I've never heard of that Imogen, Its behind my boobs and the upper part of my stomach. Around the rib area, im seeing my MW tomorrow so i will definitely check in with her about it.

I think the whole "don't take when preg" on 5W is because all the stuff in them is to bring on labour....so if that's why you're taking them (and you're over 35 weeks) then it should be all good. If you were in the early stages of pregancy then they're not a good idea.

I too have a sore spot under my rib...I think it's a foot. If I press hard on it for a few minutes it seems to go away. Is yours worse at night?

It could also be that your abdominal muscles have actually separated due to pregnancy, and sorry to be lazy but if you googled something like "abdominal muscle separation in pregnancy" it would give you information on how to check if this is the case for you (I can't remember exactly but there is a way of testing it yourself).

i GET rib pain and its unfortunately due to pregnancy at this stage

Last pregnancy I got shocking pain - i i moved like got out of bed etc... it felt like an intense electric shock and takes my breath away and makes me not want to move - would say it started round 30 weeks... found out at 34 weeks that bubs was breeched and his head was stuck right up in my ribs - my midwife suspected that I had a fractured rib because of it. when bubs came out he had a hard line on the side of his head where my rib was digging into it or was it his head was digging into my rib LOL....
