Jody has been having farex/EBM and pear for nearly 2 weeks, twice a day.
The last few days she seems to be hungry after most breastfeeds and she also wakes up a few hours after going to bed for a cluster feed on the breast (usually she sleeps 12-14hours).
Should I actually be offering food like 5 times a day or is that far too much???

5 times a day seams to much, for someone that age. (correct me if im wrong).

Leahs Routine.

6.30-7.30 first bottle then breakfast (farex & Fruit 4-6tsp)

11.30-12.30 sec bottle then lunch ( 4-6tsp of fruit)

3.30-4pm third bottle

4.30-5pm Dinner ( Veges 4-6tsp)

5.30-6pm last bottle then bed until 7am.

And I give her 1-2 rusks during the day.

Id just offer slightly more solids for just one meal? I dont know how much you are giving Jody.

but with Megan for eg she started off on say a couple of teaspoons when she got to about half a cup I started giving her another meal of solids again starting with a couple of teaspoons....did this until she was on 3 solids a day.

Joel started on about 6 tsp twice a day and by the end of the first week he was on nearly a whole jar 3 times a day.

He now has 3 big meals plus 1 snack and 3-4 bottles a day. I fed him till he stopped wanting it, oh and he hated runny food had to be thick from the beginning and now most of his food is finger food that he feeds himself.

He started on solids at 5 months.

Yay thatnks for that ladies.
I have only been offering about 1 tsp so I shall increase it. It's hard to tell if she isn't hungry or if it's just because she isn't used to solids yet.
I guess if she feels full and I am forcing her to eat she will let me know with a tanty.
She keeps sticking her thumb in her mouth at food time, and when I take it out she opens her mouth and I shove food in it, she doesn't seem to mind...

I gave her a little bit of farex/emb last night at about 6pm and she slept from 9pm-9am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hooray!

Ok, I am off to feed her lots of food now

Amby I found I started offering a little bit at lunchtime ish, then a little bit round dinner time and gradually increased them and then when he seemed to be fussy in the morning introduced breakfast.

i guess you are working towards what we have so brekky, lunch and then dinner. Jody will let you know what she wants.

They can be funny at mealtimes, Finley gets so distracted and stares out the window so I think he's done and then its like he suddenly remembers why we are there and opens his mouth wide open.

Oh and you may find she gets bored of just farex, Finley wouldn't have a bar of it within about a week, we went onto sweet potato pretty quickly and its still a firm fave.

I was worried I was making him eat when he didn't want to but soon realised when he doesn't want it, he lets me know big time

Yay thanks Fi, good to know Finn will tell you he's had enough.
On Monday I will give carrots a go. I haven't seen sweet potato here yet, although I haven't looked very hard at all lol.
She ate her lunch very happily today and it was at least twice as much as usual and now she's having a big sleep

Finns been having rusks for a while, you'll find they don't each much of it, bits of mush come off and it goes all over their faces.

That sounds like Jody's idea of fun!
Rusks and sweet potato are now on the grocery list :)
She slept really well again last night so the extra food seems to be helping, as well as offering a 3rd meal in the evening.
Hooray! Thank you ladies
