Astin has had a high temp for past few days that we had put down to teething and have just been giving him pamol!. I was having a bath with him this morning and noticed hes got spots comming up all over!!!! they look like measels!!, the weird thing is that he had his MMR shots on tuesday??? i could kind of recall this happening with Bay so went through Bays plunket book and yup! he got Rubella the week after he had the shot!...im not sure if thats normal??

BUT ANYWAY! what im wondering is - Is this harmful to my baby (as in the one im pregnant with)???? i have texted MW but had no reply so far....

Go to the hospital babe... better to be saf than sorry I say. Better treated early if it is something than wait.... esp when things are in the measles, rubella, meningitis zone.

Or ring the mw... dont just text.

my 2c anyway... thts what Id do.

Good luck and take care.
let us know how you go.

i *think* they often get a few spots after the jab..

and when i was preg with Ethan mw said measles were fine if i had already had them..which i had....i would ring mw to put mind at ease though.

took him to be seen and yes he has measles! theres nothing we can do for him other than pamol , he is contagious for 4 days but bubs is safe bcos im so far along. Bay can still get it bcos hes only had rubella so can apparently still get plain measles!
What a great start to the holidays!!!

oh no! Is it from the jabs? I heard that you can get spots from the jabs but didn't realise that you could get actual measles.

this lingering fever he has is terrible!!! last night he was tossing and turning and burning up!! i had him sleeping in my room so was watching him..obviously i wasnt sleeping partly bcos of him and also bcos DH went hunting until 4am and we kept having earthquakes!!!
