What they said
Also, don't feel bad for getting him up for cuddles etc when he is upset. He is too young to form habits and sometimes he just needs to be close to you or his dad.
Tears are normal, it is his only form of communication now. What REALLY helped DH and I cope during this stage was to agree that if the crying was getting to one of us, even just a little bit we could hand bubba over to the other one with no judgement just for a break. It works really well as we don't really get a chance to get stressed.
Routines work fantastically for some babies, not so well for others. Personally I chose to let Jody lead the way and trusted my instincts, she has made her own routine and it works very well.
Also (I'm nearly done, honest!), if you are breastfeeding make sure you are eating LOTS, don't worry about weight gain, it all goes to your milk. My mw said a breastfeeding mumma needs 3 times as many kjs than normal. I really noticed if I hadn't eaten enough in the early days Jody would be very upset.
And yes, big fat CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Ben is so so cute!
