Does anyone know the max degree (roughly) that you are able to safely raise a cot end?

Daniel can't breathe properly lying down. We have 2 hefty text books for each top leg but I don't want to go too high if there is a max recommended amount to raise it.

Thats how much we have ours raised as well and Caprece has never slipped down or anything.

we have 2 big old dictionaries next to each other under Josh's mattress have since he went into the cot pretty much.

I know with reflux they suggest raising it to 30 degrees.

I probably should have said that I want to put it higher. I can strap him in his bed with a safety sleep so that would stop him slipping down but I really want the lil guy to have a sleep today that doesn't involve him sleeping on me almost upright. It was nice when he slept on me as a newborn but he's too heavy now - very uncomfy lol

I till have Keziah's cot propped up since she had her cold last week.. I just used one of those big woolen blankets (i believe it's a queen sized) rolled up and stuck that between her mattress and the wooden slats it lifts her head up about 20 degrees so drastic that she slips under the blankets but just enough so her head is higher than the rest of her body! If that makes sense ??

Also, Karvol is AWESOME for congested bubbas.. I stuck some in a small metal bowl with some hot water (not boiling) in her room and the whole room smelt of it... helped DF and I sleep too LOL

We used a piece of 4x2 (wood). 30 deg is what I know as well

you can get vicks for babies if he does have a cold or flu i have some for josh if thats why he cant breathe properly lying flat

The weird thing is hes not congested. He kinda has the opposite problem. His nose is producing excess mucus and its running down his throat and when hes flat hes kinda gagging on it quite a bit. Poor lil guy.

That really doesnt sound pleasant poor baby. You might find that the vicks or something does help it tho now that you mention it that what i feel like sometimes and eyclypus oil (sp?) on a tissue near the bed in the room or vicks helps sometimes
