Topic: small bumps - big babies Posted: 16 April 2008 at 11:50pm |
two women I have known who have been pregnant and are quite slim (both most likley got back to their pre pregnant weight or close to after they have their babies) both had small bumps (couldnt tell they were pregnant from behind unlike me..lol) anyway they had a 9lb and a 9lb2oz baby.. I had a bigger bump and my girl was 8lb15oz.
so just curious did you have a big or small bump and was your baby big or small..

I am tall in the body (apparently lol) and had a tiny bump, measuring 2-3weeks behind, had 7lb 3oz for my first. All my bumps have been small and my biggest baby was 8lb 4oz

I *felt* huge, but I don't think I was. A lot of people were surprised when I told them I was further along than they thought.
The day before Hannah came
She was 7lb 5oz

I had a big bump and a relatively large baby (given the gestational age) so mine was relative I'd say.

No stretch marks for you then?! Isn't it amazing how differently we all carry (and each baby too)!

I don't know if I'd say I had a small bump. You definitely couldn't tell from behind.
But then I had a 9lb 6oz baby and everyone was shocked!

I was huge with Conor he was 9lb 9oz, with Nyah I was bigger and she was 9lb 6oz, with Cooper I was alot smaller (although I didn't feel it) and he was 7lb 2oz. So I don't think you can really judge by the tummy size..

My bump at 28wks, I gave birth 5wks later to 4lb 14oz baby (which doesn't sound big but that would've equated to an 8-9lb fullterm baby )
I thought this bump was pretty big for 28wks. Most people I talked to thought I was already due I had grown a fair bit again by the time I gave birth.

I don't think I was that big to the extent my MW wanted an extra scan at 32 weeks to check on bubs growth. Turned out he was sitting on the 75th percentile, and ended up being 9lb 2oz.

I carried small (same as Topsy until 39 weeks when I got a bit bigger) - Jack was IUGR but then had a growth spurt thank god. FH was measuring 5 weeks behind and I never fully fit maternity clothes as the bump wasn't big enough to hold the stretchy stuff up. Jack was 7lb 10oz so just under average.
