Topic: ABDOMINAL CRAMPS Posted: 08 December 2007 at 12:30am |
I am 6 weeks pregnant and had the worst cramps ive ever experienced this afternoon, i was in my car and had to pull over on the side of the road and flag someone down, i ended up in hospital for the rest of the evening where they did bloods, urine and and internal check, the pain died and i felt great again. They decided to send me home and im going in for an early scan in 3 days, they were concerned about an ectopic pregnancy but because i was feeling better said id be okay for a few days and if it got bad, go to the hospital quick smart! my hcg levels are perfect and all other examinations great, anyone have any ideas?

It could be just stretching as your body prepares for the baby. Hopefully it's not a miscarriage or ectopic, all the best for your tests. Take it easy in the meantime.

Yea , I had cramps which freak you out aye!, but not as strong as to find myself in hospital, good on you for being safe though, its probably just your body stretching, good luck for your scan

It could be a number of things I guess. As long as you aren't bleeding then you would think it may have just been ligaments or the uterus getting ready like busymum said. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you until you have your scan. At least then you'll know for sure. It's a shame they didn't do one at the time.

I had wicked ligament pain in the first 3 months of pregnancy, it used to worry me alot, but everyone reassured me it was just all the stretching going on!
Hope all your results come back great!

Like the others say it could be a multitude of things, has anyone mentioned a cyst or fibroid?? Sometimes they grow during a pregnancy, and they are usually no harm but can cause some cramping.....
Best of luck, hoping for the best for you, keep us informed, it's scary all the same!!
