Topic: how much does your 1yr old weigh Posted: 20 August 2007 at 9:00pm |
Everyone keeps telling me how little Addison is, I mean everyone, people on the street will randomly comment on how little she is and cant believe she has been walking for a couple of months etc... to me she is a big girl and has grown up way to quickly. I jumped on the scales with her today and she weighs 9.7kg, is that about right? not sure how tall she is though but was always a wee shorty.

She seems fine to me. Plunket puts at 12mo average at about 9.15kg.
Hannah was 8.74kg at 11mos; if I split the difference between Briona's 9m and 15m weights she would have been about 9.9kg at 12mos. Kryssi is a different story (she was just under 9kg at 6mos)

Erin is only 9.3kg so I would say she is about right.

My 12 month old is huge! She was off the charts for her weight, but she's relatively tall so doesn't look out of proportion. I think her weight sounds fine, and Aimee's right, people DO always comment, whether they look bigger or smaller than average. Sigh. I'm always getting the comments and am sick of them!

Gabrielle is 1 on Sunday and she weighs about 7.8Kgs and is 68.5cms tall. Her height is only on about the 5th percentile and yet everywhere we go people say she is tall! LOL so ironic.

They commented on our bellys when we were pregnant, they comment on our newborns, now they comment on the 1-year-olds too?!? Sheesh, does it ever end?
Guess they'll be commenting on our teenagers one day!
BTW... I think Addison's weight sounds just fine.

Ashleigh is 14 months (11 months corrected) and I weighed her the other day on our scales and is 8.6kg. Addison sounds about right!

Nope Andie, not for a while yet anyway! People are STILL commenting to me on how little my Ella is at 3 years old!
Although, to be fair, she is very little.
My 1 year old has just hit 10kg and is bang in the middle of the plunket growth charts, so I'd say Addison is average.
Ella was 7.8kgs at a year old too, Fiona!

thanks guys, I was starting to wonder if I should be worried but sounds like she is just right.
And Andie I dont think it stops! People always tell me how tall Kobe is and the other day a random lady said to me how well he speaks for a 3yr old but then he has just been to speech therapy because they thought he couldnt speak very well for a 3yr old!

Aww, my 3 MONTH old is 7.8kg as of today! He wouldn't fit on the little baby scales properly and his head hung over the end and his legs dangled over the other end as he's also 67CM tall. Gigantababy!!

It never stops I am always told that Andrew is so tall for a 3 year old, or I get what school does he go to? I can't say as I only have boys but she sounds fine.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I think McKayla was like 9.25 at her 15 month check up. Also got a lot of freaking comments. And was worried after a while. My thing is if she is active and eats okay I wont worry about it. Dont look at her food intake over a day but over a week to a month.
And if she isnt getting enough in you will soon see it by her being lethargic. But if she is energetic dont worry at all about it.
McKayla is only now over 10kg and still really thin but muscular.

Alyssa is only a little over 9kgs and I was starting to think she was small until the rest of you ladies posted your 1y.o stats as well. Looks like we're pretty average then
