Hi Mumma 2 one, you can pay for a round and stay on public waiting list, you drop off if you get pregnant. If you can afford it you can name your start date basically, which is good if you wnt to plan. We paid for our 4th round of IVF through FA Waikato after having 3 rounds public IVF a dare now 13 weeks pregnant
IVF 1- No embryos to transfer IVF 2- BFN IVF 3- BFP, miscarriage at 7 weeks IVF 4- BFP, Joshua born 15/12/2013 and one frozen embryo FET- CP IVF 5- Baby number 2 due 21/2/2017 and 1 frozen embryo ❤
Thanks Mumma2one, I would have to be going through Waikato FA, so haering that the wait list is 18 mths, would definately mean we would just pay for it ourselves as we don't want to have to wait that long AMK - Do you mind if I ask how much your IVF round was?
Of course not, it was just over $12000 but we had ICSI and used our own personal donor. ICSI costs about $2000 but as recommended and we knew each egg was correctly fertilised and good if sperm count is low With public IVF we waited about 1 year but it could be longer now, g one waiting list even if you pay for a round first if you are eligible as it pays to hav options.
