I am going to work up till 3rd July...it's another 8 days (I have 4 exams this week over Monday and Tuesday). They are "technically" full days, but I have appointments throughout those days with the physio and specialist which mean I'm not working all day The sucky thing about PPL is that even if you start it early, it's only for 14 weeks isn't it?

Yep it is just 14 weeks from when you start. Any chance you could do part time till the end of July that may help a bit.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Got to agree in a way that if you are gonna be feeling miserable at home ya might as well be feeling miserable at work and at least get paid hehe. Sucks pants of course but sucks pants to be at home stressing about money too right?

Can you cut back on your hours at all, or do some work from home so you can spread it out more over the day - even work less hours a day and add a couple in the weekend if you are not doing much anyway.

Not trying to sound mean but if there is anyway you can handle it the extra money will help out IYKWIM and financial stress sure doesn't help you feel better either.

We can handle the 7 weeks without any of my income, until PPL starts - we budgeted for that, but as an absolute maximum. Unfortunately part-time hours and work from home is just not possible in my position - it's full-time or nothing, which really doesn't help.

That sucks huh?
I wonder if there might be other help you can get? Maybe it is worthwhile going into WINZ to have a chat as there *might* be something they can help out with? ie help with purchasing baby things? Honestly I don't know but if twins maybe get some extra help with getting things pre birth?!?
