Topic: fertile cm and cervix but very "-" OPK Posted: 21 January 2009 at 8:56pm |
I've been charting for a while now and I'm pretty sure I've got this right - I have lots of EWCM and my cervix is very high and from what I can reach it feels soft and open. I just did an OPK (held on for over 2 hours) and it was completely negative, just the tinyest of tiny lines!
Am I reading my signs wrong or did I just have very diluted pee?
BTW - reasn why I tested tonight was because I think I may have convinced DH to TTC this month rather than waiting until next month! WOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Wish us luck please

Good Luck!!
I'm having the same success with those tests - just a very faint line and I have tested twice today to make sure I don't miss it, so I would go by your other signs and BD just in case!!

Good luck Toni!!!!
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the OPK's test positive 24-36hrs before ov is due to happen??? I think lol!!! So maybe you would have gotten a + yesterday? Haha, i'm not sure! I have always gotten a + when using them. I am on CD11 today and got a + today but I don't think I am due to ov until Sat so who knows. We'll just BD until Sat I think

Kelly I didn't realise you were TTC?!?!? All the best with making another lil' beauty!
I've never actually had a true positive OPK before but I was using them before I started fertility treatment so wasn't a surprise as aparently my hormones were all out of sync.
We were given the go ahead from the homeopath this week and the accupuncturist told me tonight that I'm looking very fertile right now. Watch out DH

Lol two blondies, best of luck!! Very exciting!! Will be my first go with OPK's this month so hopefully I'll get some where with them. I'm taking temp and trying to make an effort recording CM but to be honest I don't think I'll be checking out my cervix if you know what I mean ha ha!!!!! Then of course if you are BD'ng it can make it hard to record CM cos some of it comes out. I have a shower in the mornings for obvious reasons but I don't think it still gets rid of everything. TMI sorry

Goodluck girls!
I had no ewcm , no positive opks, and the result is this monkey in my tummy ,so don't stress too much if you get a negative opk

Yup - OPKs detect the surge which happens 24-48 hours before you O. Also going by the time of your post you took it too late. You are not supposed to take them first thing in the morning or after 8pm. I think its says to do it between 10am and 8pm with the best time being around 2pm. In saying that I've never had a positive OPK either even though I know I O. But this cycle I'm going to try the digital OPK - I figure a smiley face is easier to interpret than a line!

OK, I won't tell anyone
I re-checked my cervix today and it's definitely open but I wouldn't say it was soft?!?!?
OPK was negative again this morning, will give it a go later (when I've held my pee for longer).
I can't take the test at 2pm as the guys I work with will wonder why I've taken a cup into the loo and will think I've fallen in if I stay in there for 5 mins! LOL

I don't do them at 2pm either. I usually do them around 6pm when I get home. The other thing is you have to do them at the same time every day or you might miss the surge.

I try and do mine around 5pm. Thats what time I did them last time I was ttc when I was working. I forgot last night though so did it at 6.30 and still got a +. My instructions say to test between 10am-3pm or 5pm-10pm, with 2pm being the 'optimum' time.
Oxy23, its amazing to think they had the technology to help a bub so little 23 yrs ago! How early were you born?

Still negative but getting darker compared to the other 2. I guess I was hoping that I would ovulate early this cycle as I have done after acupuncture, but not this time.
Are you charting Kelly?

I would do a test at 10am, 3pm and 7pm.. but i did have a serios POAS addiction
I would take my handbag into the loos at work, no one ever questioned me and wouldnt... why do most women take a handbag to loo???? I would do the test wash up etc and put the test back in the packet and then go back to my desk.. mine where 10 min tests so I would head back to the loo just before the 10 mins was up.
I am sure no-one knew what was up to
Good luck ladies, I was so over BDing before our BFP, now I miss it lol.
