they will come only when they are ready.... trust me on this.! sure some people do go into labour after trying a "tried and tested removal method" but it will more than likely be when baby was ready any way!

Yeah I agree with Bizzy too.
I did have a yummy curry however. All it did was fill my belly!

I did lots of the things that are said to bring on labour (spicy food, fresh pineapple, acupressure etc) but there's no way of knowing whether that was why Michaela was 5 days early.
I think that it's best to leave them cooking until their ready (but that's easy to say when you're not in your final tri).

DP went away to Nelson (im in invercargill) for the weekend 2 weeks before i was due as we figured i would be unlikely Josh would be early and i should have some sign of impending labour or be in labour for ges and he would have time to return and sure enough Josh came 2 weeks early and in 3hrs in the middle of the night when there are not even flights.
So it was either cos he wasnt here or because i really didnt want him to come out while he was away

I didn't do anything special and she was early!
I understand how you feel though - I'm not 30 weeks yet but my body is sooo sore all over!

Baby will come when ready (and he's definitely not ready at 35 weeks - babies born then are so skinny)
However, I tried almost everything as baby was ready but my cervix wasn't favourable. So all I did was the EPO trick and lots of special cuddles in uncomfortable positions for baby (sorry TMI ) and he popped out a few hours later.

lol, sarah, ***WARNING TMI TO FOLLOW**
we had a nice deep bath at the time & i sat with legs open wide like they would do when they do an internal, & just sort f pushed around on the cervix a bit. i had been told by someone who had already had threee kids what they do, so was able to sort of do it myself. either that or get your dh to lube up & play?

lol, it's nto as bad as it sounds actually. But the thing is, bubs will only come out when they good n ready. hence why sometimes the midwife doing the s&s doesn't do anything

Yep, will definitely be waiting another month before even thinking about anything like that. I quite like the idea of Baby being born on 080808, but as you say he/she will come when they're ready.

I never tried anything with the gremlins, as over it as I was none of the old wives tales appealed to me - curry and pineapple sound like sure fire ways to get heartburn and EPO is just icky.
Haven't tried anything this time either, except the stretch and sweep but my m/w doesn't think it will work coz she doesn't think baby is quite ready so I figure if that won't make her come, nothing else will either.

I got told by one of the husbands from my AN group who is a Doctor to eat a whole pineapple. Said it works a treat.
Didn't do anything at all!
About 6 weeks later he confessed that he made it up, and that he just wanted to give me something to do cos I was getting so distraught at being so overdue!

I truely truely beleive that none of it works, like everyone else here says, Baby will come when s/he is ready. Notice lots of people try everything and none of it works? O)r someone a few days over will try one thing and it "works"? Nah, baby was ready to come anyways. Easier in than out, lol.

with my first pregnancy i did all the least harmful sounding 'ole wives tales just to keep my mind busy! we went on heaps of outings to the beach, and drove really fast anywhere there were roadworks with the suspention on "hard"... maybe i was thinking i'd shake the baby out!!?? in the end i roped hubby into sex every 2 hours on the dot... he thought it was a great idea at first but quickly got sick of me chasing him around the house... who knows if any of it works but it can be a laugh!

I did the pineapple thing and all it gave me was a very very upset tummy

pineapple is what they often give you after labour as it helps with contractions. i read somewhere recently that it's suggested for during labour but never heard of it to bring on labour
