Deb - Actually Mirena would be more than suited to those who can't take the pill - the hormones in a Mirena are released straight into the uterus in small doses (rather than larger doses that course throughout your body).

It also doesn't contain estrogen, which is where most of the side effects come from.

Maybe it was unsuitable for your particular situation (there are always exceptions) but it is definitely an option for most people.

ETA - the website has really good information - link

Thanks everyone. I think I would have to check with my doctor about the Mirena IUD as the reason I can't use a normal IUD is because it came out of my uterus.... Doctor said if it has happened once it's usually not advisable to use it again and although the Mirena has hormones in it, would they still be enough to work if it moved out again?

LOL at least you ladies are nice when I ask bout contracetion to use so soon after the birth... Someone else called me a hornbag! LOL shame!!

No more kids for me! I had the perfect birth & with 3 kids I'm so done!

My sister in Law who has had major PMS problems....ENDO problems..is a Coeliac disease sufferer..has just had a Mirena fitted and said it was the best thing she has ever done....

She gets no PMS..no pain....no bloating or bleeding and her Specialist said that as the SMALL dose of hormones is released straight into the Uterus it has very little effect whatsoever....

Might be the way to go.....

He he We had our first Doc session and have VAS booked in for the 10th July..about the time i might be induced!!! LOL
