    Posted: 10 June 2008 at 9:19am
Hi all

So I have read most of the posts in this area, including the information about all the different types of cloth nappy and I am still confused about what type I should buy.    My son is almost 8 weeks old and I would like to start him off during the day and work up to full time once I get the hang of it all. Can anyone please give me some idea of what type would be best - I know there are varying opinions but the best you can do would really help.

Also we don't have a drier so they would need to dry reasonably fast on their own so that I don't have to buy too many.

Thanks heaps.

Hrmmmmmm... based on the drying time, perhaps pockets would be the way to go.

There are quite a few brands that are good - depends on what suits your little man!

Fuzzibunz, Honeychild, Tweedle, Baby Harmony, Ecobubs, to name a few!

I'd say get a few different types to see how you go.

If you join the Nappy Network there are often nappies in the trading section going for cheap.

i definately recommend pockets......and TNN

as nikki said, it's a good idea to get a few different brands rather than a lot of one brand. that way you can sell off the ones you don't like and get more of the ones you do.

my faves are drybees ($18.90 at mothers instinct til stocks go), baby harmony and i also like peapods, which are cheap at baby factory/baby city

there's also alot on TM so keep an eye out on there too

My fav pockets are www.wigglebums.co.nz/shop

They're on sale, but I think it's ending soon - maybe even after today? Awesome prints! And the 5 pack of microfibre inserts is a great deal at the sale price! Not bad at usual price. I have some of them, and they dry very fast.

I like front-snapping pockets such as Fuzzi Bunz, Honeychild & Foxybots. There are heaps of other great brands out there, these are just the ones that I've tried. Pocket nappies are great because they dry quickly and you can adjust the absorbency to suit your baby's needs. Microfibre or trifold inserts dry quickest.

What I'd recommend is saving the cloth nappies and other sections in the nappy part of trade me as a favourite so you get sent updates daily of all the new listings. You can pick up quite a few bargains that way.

i bought most of ours thru TM as well. We tried different systems and different brands as well. I resell ones that don't fit well (or i don't like) back on TM.
i found pockets dry much quicker than other system but i found fitted to be more reliable on heavy wetter.
prefolds are good too, and cheaper than other system, but i found it to be a little bulky and they don't look cute

Thanks for that, went online and bought some of the wigglebums on sale. Finished yesterday so just got them in time Will wait till they arrive and try them before buying any more.
