Today on our way into town Ava threw up all over herself, the carseat and the car. This is the third time it has happened. I didn't let her eat before we went out (it had been 3 or so hours since breakfast) but she still managed to throw it all up.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to deal with this? Are there any natural remedies I can try? We had a few important things to do in town (a 40min drive away) and now I'm stuck at home

I swear by the naturopharm travel med. DS gets sick and we travelled the worst rides inthe south island at xmas time using this spray and he didn't spew once!

Also we gave him ginger nuts. The nautropath I spoke to said that lots of the natural ones are not appropriate for littlies as have high levels of something in them and that the naturopharm was the only one available.

I can't speak highly enough of it!

No idea about a baby but I get increadably motion sick and it's actually worse if I haven't eaten at all. Dry toast or some bikkies before an awful trip seems better than an empty stomach. Peanut's suggestion sounds perfect to me (I'm going to try it myself).

You can buy carsickness wristbands at pharmacies if you want to try something completely natural. I presume they make kiddies ones.

They work based on a pressure point in the wrist.

This was happening to us a few months back, DS was about 15mths I think at the time, I was sure it was carsickness, we couldnt get more than 15mins from home and he'd puke everywhere, it was horrible for everyone and I felt trapped at home cos washing the carseat covers was a right faff.

Turns out that the straps needed lengthening on the carseat *blush*

We were putting the carseat back together after the second sicky of the week and DH said Hmmmm I wonder if these straps need looking at... poor little boy wasnt sick anymore after that... we felt terrible!!!! I think the straps were putting so much pressure on his tummy that as soon as he coughed he'd vomit.

Maybe something to look at is all I'm saying!
