Wash the carseat in vanilla essence and warm water, it will take the smell away.

Works a treat for our carseat that often gets a dose of vomit

My brother used to get horribly car sick, and I get touches of it myself. It seems to occur when what you see, and what you feel (your balance) don't match.

Try and position your little one (if possible depending on your car seat) so that he can see the road ahead, so he knows what it coming, make sure you (or your husband) drive quietly around corners (sharp cornering is the worst), and try and keep fresh air blowing on his face - the smell of vomit often makes more vomit likely!

Here is one to make you all laugh, When I was a kid we lived on a very nasty rd, Nasty for car sickness that is. Someone told Mum to put a sticking plaster over our bellybutton, and weirdly, it worked, so much so that the teacher/bus driver would check to see if we had them on our tummies before we went on a long trip, once we learnt that sticking plaster trick we were sick no more. Hmm in our heads Im thinking now, but hey anything is worth a try
Oh and sprinkle baking soda over the seats/ carpet etc leave as long as you can then vaccumme up, helps get rid of the smell too
