Hi All,
My GP of many years has retired so over the past year I have visited a new doctor. Unfortunately I feel like he is really 'vague' when I ask him questions or for his advice.
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a really good GP in the west Auckland (or surrounding) area?
Would ideally like to find a female GP but if you recommend a great male one thats fine too. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am in Swanson and travel to Titirangi for Dr Conning! We used to live over that way and I didn't want to change doctors!

There are a couple of ladies at Henderson Medical Centre that I quite like... My fave was Dr Sarah and I started using Dr Montgomery when I got UTD. As its such a big centre, you can enrol & then use trial & error until you find one you like. You can also check them out on their website before hand which helps... (obviously only enrol there if you intend to keep going, I only mention as they seem pricey for unenrolled patients).

Hi Keolyn,
I've made an appointment with a new GP for today... has taken me a while to get into the right frame of mind to go chat to someone after seeing the last one (very vague and disinterested)... so have heard lots of great things about this new lady - will let you know how I get on later this arvo

Have found a great new GP at (Te Atatu) Peninsula Medical Centre, her name is Fiona McLean. Had her recommended by a family friend. Struck me as very friendly, caring and professional. Answered all of my questions and made phone calls during my appointment to get more information for me. Would recommend her to anyone loooking for a new GP.

She sounds lovely :) I got recommended that Ratanui Medical center on Licoln Road, so have transfered there. Have to wait for the papers to be final and then going to take little Miss there to see how we go :)
its such a big deal finding another one!!
