Topic: Bum Creases Posted: 10 May 2009 at 6:54pm |
On the topic of body parts....
Anyone had a bubs who's bum creases all of a sudden didn't match up?
At Coopers last check his creases at the back didn't match, ones at front did.
I must admit I have had a look since end of april so not sure if it's come right.

Yeah, lil miss' ones suddenly didn't match up at her 3mth check even tho they had always been fine, not sure if it was back or front or both tho, my Plunket nurse just checked them carefully next time and pronounced that they were fine (she was crawling by that stage so I'd say her hips are fine . I vaguely remember Maya's being uneven at one stage too.

Hi, Mika's creases were uneven at both the 6 and 10 week check up. Although at the 10 week check up some had evened out a little.
My Plunket nurse told me I could get it checked out by the doctor and I did, but it was all fine.
The only reason I went to the doctor was because just before my plunket visit my mum told me that both my brother and I were scanned for hip problems when we were babies. Neither of us had any problems, but both my neighbours were in hip braces when they were little. (I grew up in Holland, don't know if hip problems are more common there)

Yes, Zavier's last plunket check he had uneven bum creases so the plunket nurse told me to check it out with our Doctor.
The doctor sent him for hip scan just in case because she didnt want to miss anything
But it came back OK and he can crawl perfect.
Now it's just Luke draggin the chain!

Spencer had uneven creases that the mw picked up on at 6 weeks. He had a scan anyway at 8ish weeks as they scan all breech babies and he was absolutely fine. The gp said it's just one of the things they look for but on it's own doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem. I didn't talk to the gp about it till after the scan though so not sure if he would have sent us for one if we hadn't already been.
If he does need a scan it's totally painless for them and only takes about 10 mins if that.

B had uneven creases, and his dad was in a brace and had a lot of problems so we went for a scan and a check at the hospital. Hips are perfect so thats a relief. They have now evened up.

Well looked at Coopers today & to me they have got worst. We'll see what the plunket nurse says next week.
His knees match & on the front so does his feet so not sure what that means.
