Topic: Breastfeeding and getting pregnant Posted: 10 April 2009 at 9:32pm |
Hi all. im not sure if this is the right place to put this but here goes. My period is 4days late. and im wondering if im pregnant. I have no symptoms other than feeling slightly nausous while eating - not like with my last pregnancy where the first sign was sore boobs (i couldnt lay on my side). What im wondering is could i be pregnant but not have sore boobs and could this be because im breastfeeding? Should i take a test or should i wait? how early can i test? last time i knew already and did a test at 8weeks at the drs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ladies

I would take a test.
I took a test the day before my period (granted we were trying and I had an inkling it was going to be positive) and sure enough there was were 2 lines...a very faint one but a line all the same.

If there's a chance you could be pregnant, the only way to tell is to take a test!! Not all women get sore boobs when pregnant, and not all women get nauseous - every pregnancy is different.
Good luck

Take a test. I conceived our 2nd while breastfeeding AND using protection when #1 was 10 months old.... Same with #3 except she was conceived when #2 was 15months old.

It was very hard work to begin with, I had MS and was soooo exausted, I got pregnant with this baby when Caden was 5 1/2 months old.
With the nausea I went to the health shop and got some NaturoPharm-Morning Med Relief and it worked well for me, but I also made sure I ate little and often. My MS wasnt as bad this time as it was with Caden though.
Lifting him is fine, I just have to be careful how I lift him as sometimes it can hurt me, Im getting quite big now and it is getting harder to lift him but its doable, and I have found this pregnancy Im much more relaxed about things
You will be fine, some how you just cope, thats what I found

In some ways I reckon the lifting thing would be easier the younger your baby is coz they're not as heavy. The gremlins weren't walking when I got preg with lil miss and I was lugging them around right up until she was born.
I did find the nausea/vomiting/tiredness really, really hard tho.
