Has anyone tried these for motion sickness or morning sickness and are they OK to take during pg? The Blackmores website lists the active ingredient as "Zingiber officinale (Ginger) root powder."

I'm still suffering from MS and get seasick at the best of times but am doing a notoriously bad ferry trip tomorrow (and back again Sunday) so trying to get as many "precautions" ready as I can

Yup, they worked for me!
I've always been pretty bad for motion sickness and unfortunately its a trait I've passed on to both kids.
I give them 1/4 tablet each and take the other half myself.
They wear off after a couple of hours so you need to keep yourself topped up, but they definitely got rid of my nausea and cut the kids puking waaaaaaay back.
Not too sure on whether they are safe in pregnancy, but the pharmacist told us it was just ginger so I'd guess yes... You'd want to check to be sure though!

Thanks caraMel. I will be buying them from a pharmacist anyway, so will check with him just to be on the safe side.

The ferry trip is only 45mins but everyone goes on about how bad it is .... I'm a bit nervous!

ETA: just did some more looking around on the Blackmores website and the Blackmores Morning Sickness tablets contain the same dosage (400mg) of ginger plus vitamin B6, so sounds like the plain ginger ones will be OK.

They are completely safe, as the pharmacist told me to buy them, as they did not have the morning sickness formula (which is just ginger root powder plus some B vitamins added to the mix).

Its a good idea to take them at least half an hour before your trip too, so that they've had time to absorb and start working.
Good luck, I hope you have a puke-free trip!

Ginger is my fave for motion sickness, all those other little pills make me feel sick just thinking about taking them! I know some of my motion sickness is in my head so knowing I'm taking something natural helps me a lot IYKWIM!

I used the morning sickness one during the first tri, I don't really think it helped much? Sea Bands were my best friend though!!
