Birth plan question

So i have to write a simple birth plan by tomorrow to give to my midwife. One of the things she said she wanted me to put on it was when i wanted to go to the hospital. I have no idea what to write. Shouldnt she tell me that? HELP!

Hmm how odd..usually they tell you when is a good time to go in...

My Midwife said..when contractions are 5 mins apart..LONG AND STRONG.....

However that was way to long to wait for me should have gone about an hour before I did as was a hideous Kelly screaming down the hospital Corridors due to contractions going wham bam bam!!!And I was 70% of the way there by the time I got my hands on the gas!

I think its hard to say ..esp as you dont know how your pain will be.....

I think I arranged something like, when things are getting serious uncomfortable I'll call mw and she can see how far along I am and whether it's a good time to make the move.

If I was living further away (I live about 600m from the hospital ) I'd also want to make some allowance for travelling to the hospital when not feeling so comfy.

where are you from? my MW did this with me but told me to think about it.....but she kept telling me not to go until i couldnt walk or speak......my contractions started at 3mins apart and i still was too scared to go in just incase she sent me away....silly now i think about it but hey it was my first and i had no idea what was going on :) all my plan flew out the door anyway....nothing went to plan

I think all you need to really comment on is whether you want to stick around at home till the last minute or go in earlier - remember once you get to a certain dilation you can't have an epidural and stuff so if you want that you may need to plan to go to the hospital earlier

Both times my birth plan went out the window anyway - ended up in the main hospital with my first in an ambulance ride (things happening too quickly and I couldnt travel by car) when I had planned a birthing centre, second time around planned to go the main hospital and had her at home as she came even quicker than my first. Both times once I was lieing down I didn't move so all my plan about walking around and using the birthing ball, birth pool etc just went out the window.

Yeah, I think she is probably asking how long you think you would like to stay at home vs hsopital.

I had contractions 2-3mins apart from the time they started (9.30am), but they were short. My mw said to go to hosp when the contractions were a minute long - this was about 9pm. I was 7-8cm dilated when I arrived at hosp.

I was comfortable with this because we live quite close to the hospital - it would be worth considering how long it will take you to get to hosp - including in peak hour traffic etc.

my midwife told me to go to the hospital when contraction were REGULAR, or at 12pm (when my next antibiotics were due for strep b. At 11am, i was in so much agony I told DH to take me in despite him telling me it "wasnt time"., and contractions were all over the place. When I got to the hosp 10mins later I was 8cm dilated.
I think I could have done with some Gas earlier so if theres ever a next time, Ill be going to the hospital as soon as I feel like it!

at antenatal class they recomend 3 within ten mins and lasting 60-90 seconds long
