My 8 month old neice has gone from sucking on her fingers to sucking on her forearms. It has got so bad that she is leaving large bruises on her arms, much to her parents horror! Any suggestions on how to stop her sucking her arms?? Plunket couldn't come up with any ideas. Thanks in advance

Maybe they could try giving her something like a taggy blankie/toy she could suck instead? I'm sure they've already tried this though - other than that I have no ideas, sorry! I hope this stage passes soon for them!

My 8 month old son sucks on his shoes when he is wearing them, and ends up with a blue mouth

Awwww, my Sienna used to do that, she sucked on her wrist when she was tired. She stopped doing it a couple of months ago when she got attached to a stuffed bunny my sister gave her and now she sucks that instead.

OMG you should see what my niece does to my sister she sucks on the inside top of HER arm. Even after she puts on deodorant eeewwwww. (oh and she is three)
