We tried him in the tent in the garden and the first night he was having none of it. Last night we tried again and put a dark sheet over his portacot and he slept through. I'm sure there's more to camping then getting him to sleep though - any tips from anyone whose been there?

Oh well - bugger it! We have a site booked in Hanmer so we're off! We'll let you know how it goes - fingers crossed!

Hope it goes well! You'll probably find that with one night down, it's easy from here anyway. We tented with Briona at 6mos and I just cuddled down and co-slept for the night. No room for a portacot in our little tent hehe

We just got back from two nights away but copped out and booked a cabin. Caleb slept on the bottom bunk with stuff around him to keep him from wriggling out of bed.

We used canned baby food and disposable nappies and took some sachets of formula just in case (mostly breastfed though). We did lots of walks using his buggy. He fell asleep in the car or his buggy when we were out and about and had no problem going to sleep in the cabin, although protested a bit as he could hear us all talking.

We used a baby and toddler sunblock and sprayed bug spray on his clothes so he didn't get bitten by bugs. We took turns at swimming so someone could watch him but all the time. He was pretty easy to take because you don't have to watch him around water etc. Next year will be a bit harder no doubt.
