Some of you may know a little about this story as I have posted the begining parts on another forum, but the next chapter has just started so to speak and I just wanted to share here as some ladies here are TTC.

A friend of mine got married 7 years ago, she was 26 years old then. Her and her husband were very keen to start a family right away, and they started TTC basically from the wedding night. Well, months and months went by and nothing happened...and then years started to go by and nothign happened. AFter about 2 years they went to a few doctors (very much against her hubbys will he hated going to see them about this stuff) and anyway they had tests and nothing obvious came back...they could not tell my friend why she wasnt conceiving, her age was right, everything seemed ok, and they said they would have to study her over a longer period of time to try and get some clues. Well all this doctor stuff took it's toll on their marriage, and they started fighting about it alot. Eventually they decided that it just wasnt meant to be and that it was too hard, that the dissapointment every month of not being pg was too much for them, and that they would rather work on their marriage and stay together as this whole thing was getting too stressful for them both. The reality was they had given up...this was after about 3 years of wondering why they werent the ones to have a baby and seeing all their friends get pg etc - so it was totally understandable and everyone really sympathised with them.
So life went on and they just found other things to think about and do, and they seemed to have accepted that it just wasnt meant to be.
Last year, six years after they had officially started TTC, and 3 years after they had given up, My friend started to feel really nauseous. No one who knew her well ever cracked the "maybe you are pg" joke cos we just knew it wasnt appropriate given their history. But she was pregnant - it took like 10 weeks to find out cos she just didnt think she could be pregnant, it didnt even occur to her...

And now for the next chapter...
My friend's husband just called me about half and hour ago. TODAY she just gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy - over 7 pounds and healthy as a horse! They are just so so so SO amazed and over the moon...I felt the tears welling up in my eyes as he spoke, in my mind I could just picture his chest puffed out with pride and I just have never heard anyones voice so emotional in my life before...

Anyway, I just wanted to share this story..the people that meet my friend today will never know the heartbreak she had over the years with TTC, and they will never know just how badly her and her husband wanted this little baby, so I guess it just goes to show that good things happen to people without reason or warning, and that miracles happen when you least expect...

Sorry its so long, I am just so happy and pround that I wanted to share!

That's a lovely story, and for me and DH who have been TTC for a while, it gives me some hope that there are happy endings...

Sounds very familiar to corys aunty who took 7 years to get pregnant and was on her 2 or 3rd round of IVF when she got pregnant but then was followed by almost miscarrying and having to stay on complete bed rest for the first trimester, they now have a gorgeous 10 year old hes awesome!

Congrats to your friends chicka they deserve it!!

Frantic, that is such a cool story.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
