hi all:)

I'm nervous and excited and worried!:) but very happy I am preg..but just wanted to ask a few things...

my hcg numbers doubled (13 dpo 137 to 15dpo 408) so I know doubling is important..is there anything else about them I need to know?

and where my scar is I am achy like everything is stretching and I have pulled a muscle in there.. is that normal ? talking to some people this morning it seems it is but just wanted to see other people's experiences of being pregnant after a c-section (16 months ago but was pregnant for 6.5 weeks in dec/jan too)

Congratulations!

Um, on hcg levels, I never found out any of mine so couldn't help you there. I haven't had a c-section but the stretchy pulled muscle feeling is something I've become quite familiar with.

Ok, now I can FINALLY post....

Your HCGs are pretty similar to mine for these two I was 92 and 13DPO and 262 at 15 DPO. They are doubling, which is a very important thing, but also bear in mind that even if they don't double, it doesn't necessarily mean bad news!! HCGs are such fickle indicators - what is fine for one person is different to the person next to them. So don't pay much attention to how high they are or anything like that - there is such a huge range of levels that they can just end up causing stress. Listen to what your mw/doc says - if they say they're ok, then they are!!!

I can't answer the pregnancy after c-section question though...I do find it phenomenal the amount of stretching that a body can do in such a short time, so it really wouldn't surprise me to hear that what you're feeling is normal!!

Good luck!!!

Congratulations!

I had a c/s over ten years ago and I felt a lot of stretching and pulling in the first trimester. It got so it was almost painful at times. When the baby grew so it wasn't in my pelvis anymore it eased off. Though I expect it will have more stretching etc as everything gets bigger.

the levels I think people have answered that for you..

I had a Ceasar 2 1/2 years ago and now pregnant again and the stretching on the scar has settled but it was pretty sore at times. I do find now that my tummy is quite numb and funny feeling around the scar.

LOL KA....it's ok, my HCG levels gave us absolutely no hint that it was twins whatsoever - they're not unusually high, they're just normal really!!! So no need to worry about the whole twins thing (although....2 for the price of 1 )

yeah mw said it was normal but not actually on my csection line.. said a c section shouldn't cause soreness but the aching is probably ligament stuff but sending me for 7-8 week scan to check:)

I was very achy and had some weird pulling and stuff round my scar in the first weeks of this pregnancy, its all very normal I am told

As for hcg, try not to worry about it, worrying is not good(you know this )

My hcg was 79000 at 7 weeks and there was only one, despite both the doc and mw saying their might have been more than one Way to freak someone out before a scan.
Doubling is all you really need to know about the numbers, there are ranges for singleton and multiple pregnancies and so forth but they are so wide and overlap so much that they really don't tell you anything.

Stretchy achy pain sounds perfectly normal to me but also to put your mind at ease they actually look at the scar at each scan to make sure it's all looking how it should, they put up the little colour thingy, not sure what that does, it's the same thing they use when scanning the heart and cord so they must be looking at the blood supply around the scar. And also as I said the other day remember it's not just scar tissue on the outside, your uterus which also has a scar will be stretching a lot down low in this first bit of pregnancy.

And congratulations again and also Happy Birthday
