It is a hallmark example of health system innovation, serving dual objects of social impact and business viability simultaneously.
With an ENT surgeon as the central point of care, the programs are operationalized through trained community health workers (CHW) equipped with an “Ear Screening Kit.” Patients with a positive provisional diagnosis are routed to the point of care for receiving low-cost treatment, including advanced diagnosis, medicines, audiometric tests and surgical interventions.
Ear Screening Kit
The Ear Screening Kit, now in its third generation, is a CE certified production-version. It consists of four components: an otoscope, a digital image capturing and transmitting device (smartphone), a light source for the otoscope, and a mobile data SIM card. A telemedicine application is loaded onto the device to record an entire case, including images of the ear and provisional diagnosis. The completed test is then transmitted to a cloud server over 3G which can be accessed by the ENT surgeon.

Hearing Loss | hearing test | Best Hearing Aid Clinic in India |

Should your toddler sleep in his crib or at the opposite, have you co-sleep? To the ones simple at the beginning sight questions, there are as many answers as households! It's as much as you to select in keeping with your feelings, your way of dwelling, and of the path the comfort of your infant. The suitable sleepers who have a massive bed, will not thoughts if their baby slips into their mattress within the middle of the night. On the opposite, the large insomniacs will decide upon that the child learns to sleep by means of himself. In either case, there is no proper or wrong solution. Do now not blame your self if you allow your child to sleep with you, or in case you want to teach him to nod off alone without Dad or Mom why my baby won’t sleep in her crib

An issue that appears to concern a few parents is whether a baby swing is better in the event that it moves from side to side or from front to back. Children are too youthful to even consider saying what they like, so a few guardians want to consider the headings that an infant swing can move in. While I'm excited, I'm a little apprehensive about it. Not in a dreadful sort of way but a "what if I miss something that I did the first time around" sort of thing.

So for those who have 2 or more children, what is different, if anything, with raising a 2nd? My personal concern is that i'll forget to teach the child something, that i'll be more laid back and not as strict, that I won't spend as much quality time or be as excited to introduce new things like I did the first time. I'm just afraid i'll inadvertently neglect the child in some way because I'm more comfortable as a parentmobdro kodi.

Is that a logical thought? lol I'm not saying I'm going to throw the child to the wolves or anything.

Edited by Raven262590 - 14 August 2020 at 7:42am

I had my first scan 2 weeks ago, they could not find fetal pole. I had repeated scan today , they found fetal pole but not heart beat .
My gestational sac is only 26mm which means I am at 6 weeks only. The last scan is 2 weeks ago I had my sac is 13mm. I was asking sonographer if any chance that I calculate wrong pregnancy age as I thought I am 8 weeks( my first day of last period is 16th Jan), he keep saying no , it means my pregnancy stop growing.
I read the report from doctor saying that he need another scan 7 days later but the sonographer makes me feel I am sure that I had miscarriage. Anyone had same issue but end up with healthy baby? I am looking for small hope, I am completely exhausted ...

I suddenly remembered forums and Oh! Baby looks like a good one!

So I am here, at the end of my tether.

My daughter was SUCH and amazing newborn. She slept 9 hours a night, fed well from day one, I had a textbook pregnancy and a textbook birth and a textbook newborn.

Then we had a 5mo sleep regression. Where she ended up with a couple days of napping every hour for 20 minutes.

She is two weeks away from 9mo.

I thought I had sorted it out. She was napping 3x a day;

awake at 6am
down at 7:30 for 30 mins
down at 9:30 for 90 mins
down at 2:30 for 90 mins
bed at 7:30

I don't know what has happened this week but she suddenly started refusing naps. =(

This has completely thrown off her nap schedule.

Today she has had maybe an hour total of sleep. (after waking at 6am) she took 20 mins at 8:30 (after screaming the house down for an hour. nothing I did would console her)
She took another 20 mins at about 11:30 because she was so tired.

I managed to get her close to her regular nap time for the afternoon. So she went down at 2:20 and woke up 20 mins later.

I just do not know what is going on.

I'm not sure if I have her schedule right?

She has tooth #2 on the way which I know wont help.
She is crawling at high speed, standing and cruising the furniture. She has a meltdown if she cannot get to where she wants quick enough.

I used to be able to put her in bed, and close the door - she'd be out cold in under 10 mins.
Now its a fight. She scratches me, writhes around and kicks me in the neck/face because she is trying to get out of my arms.

I hate her crying so inconsolably but she does it regardless of being in her cot or being up with me around the house

I'd so desperately appreciate some help/advice.

One Tired Momma!

I'm in need of some advice! I have scoured the internet in search of some but nothing relevent seems to pop up. And no other mum's in my groups have this issue.
My DD is 8 weeks old and will only fall asleep in my arms. Not ever her dad's.
She will wake after 20 minutes of putting her down, day and night.
She has never successfully taken a day nap anywhere other than my arms or the car seat or pram.
In the evening we bathe her, pyjamas on, lights down, cuddles. I've tried putting her down while she's drowsy but she loses it. And when I put her down fully asleep she will wake up and stay awake for a couple of hours if she's worked herself up.
She is BF and co sleeps in a nest between us in bed (safely).
I have a bassinet in the living room I have tried using for day naps.
During the night she wakes for feeds and I keep her upright for 20-40 minutes afterwards due to her reflux. So she falls asleep in my arms through the night and tends to have longer sleeps through the night (2 hours) I have elevated her mattress. She's full, she's burped, her reflux is being dealt with, she's a warm baby. Lullabies, white noise...
I've tried everything.
She's not a crier. Until I try to put her to bed!!
I have just heard so much about bad sleep habits from 8 weeks and I want to get some of my evening back.
All other mum's seem to leave their baby to self settle at nights.
Any advice would be amazing. I don't want this to go on for years if I don't break the habit of sleeping in my arms.
Please help
Thank you

    Author: Mushroom
Subject: Fussy at the Breast
Posted: 01 October 2017 at 5:24pm

Hi,

Every child is different, so it's always hard to know exactly why babies do what they do! A couple ideas for her behaviour you could consider is:

a) Noise - being your second child, there is probably a lot more noise going on while she is feeding. If so, you could try going into a different room where it is quieter and see if it makes any difference.

b) Stronger let down - you might be pumping the milk faster than she can drink, so she breaks away to breath/swallow before returning to the breast again. Not sure what to try if this is an issue.

c) Gas or reflux issues - if her tummy is sore, she will be squirmy. Does is make any difference to her behaviour if she is having the first or second side? I can only feed my son one side at a time during the day or he becomes a squirmer. Holding him to feed more upright (e.g. I sit cross legged on the bed and have him sitting on the bed between my legs feeding in a more sitting position than sideways) does help me a lot with his feeding.

d) Cool stuff going on - if the rest of the world is simply too interesting she might be pulling away to not miss out on what is going on. You could try covering her with a shawl or something to block out the interesting sights and keep her focus on feeding and see if it makes any difference.

10 minutes a side is a fairly normal length of time to take for feeds, so it that is how long she is taking it's not uncommon all up. Boys do tend to drink faster on average, but again comes down to personality!

Hope any of this helps!

My son was breastfed for 6 months with no issue however my 9 week old daughter has been very fussy at the breast since she was 3 weeks old. She is gaining weight so is obviously taking in enough milk however she will suck for about 5-10 seconds then stop & this goes on until she no longer wants the breast at all - usually 5-10 minutes. It makes the feeding process so drawn out which is difficult with a 3 year old to look after also.

Has anyone else experienced this with their children? I have spoken to the Breastfeeding Association numerous times, I've seen lactation consultants & my GP however everyone tells me to continue as we are & that it's normal.

I am getting very frustrated & am contemplating putting her on formula.

Thanks in advance.

Edited by Lean - 03 October 2017 at 10:22am

There are some really good basics that are helpful regardless of how you do toileting... eg get into routines of sitting on potty for fun with and without pants on (playtime can be on potty once bubs is able to climb on and off themselves), lots of bare bum time, using the toilet or potty at regular times eg after every meal and after every sleep... its almost a certainty you will manage to get some wee and even poo into the toilet this way.

We used reusable nappies and my boy was out of nappies completely at 18 months, with only very occasional accidents. Every kid is different but i do think that some of these tips above helped heaps (you will almost certainly need to get your carpets cleaned after toilet training, we had plenty of no nappy accidents when he was little...)

So I don't doubt that it works and I can't wait to give it a try!

I follow the nappy lady on facebook. I really want to go to one of her talks but she has recently stopped doing them in Palmerston North frustratingly, so we may have to head to Whanganui for an evening. We will certainly use cloth nappies as precautions when needed. I want to steer clear from disposables as much as possible.

So EC sounds like a mixture between sign language and potty-training - but I have never heard of anyone successfully starting that before at least the age of 4 months. I recently went to a great talk by the Nappy Lady, which was both hilarious and really helpful - but focussed much more on reusable nappies. http://www.thenappylady.co.nz/ This may be a useful stepping stone to your EC ambitions when the little critter is several months old, able to see more than 18 inches away and more receptive to its surroundings.

PS. we are moving to Palmy in June with a newborn (touch-wood)! Then I thought I would find a forum! Hence this being my first ever post here.

I even did a search of the forum and nothing seems to come up. So please please if you do it/want to do it please get in touch! I would love to know your experiences and get advice on where to buy training undies for small babies and suitable potties ect!
I think feeding to sleep generally leads to a lot of on going issues so if you can maybe try and sort this out, you could use a little cuddly toy that she might get attached to (put it down your top for a day and it will get your scent)..
If you're really atruggling you could look at a sleep consultant.. and lastly if avoid any processed foods or custards or sachet food for dinners!
Just my two cents!
And I dunno about cio method but research can lean in many different directions, my friends did that wiht their kids and they are two of the nicest well behaved, happy and smart little kids I know.. I need sleeeeep!
Posted: 11 February 2016 at 3:32pm

Thanks for your response. Moon glow, CIO = the cry it out method, leaving the baby to cry in the effort to teach them to self sooth. Some people swear by it but it wouldn't suit me. When a v baby is left to cry she experiences a surge of the stress hormone cortisol, and learns that her caregiver is not coming to her aid. Falling asleep at the end is just the body shutting down from too much stress rather than actual self soothing. Thanks for reminding me that this is normal and just a phase :)

Indigo, our routine probably is too inconsistent, we do most of the same activities pre-bed (bath, massage, story or cuddle, then feed to sleep ), but not always in that order and not always at the same time of day. Also my husband comes home from work at about 6 or 7 and, adorably, wants to play with her. This delights us all but is not relaxing, hehe.

DD gets about 11 hrs sleep at "night" (midnight to midday, with a couple of feeds), about one 3 hr nap in the mid afternoon and about 45-60 mins around 6pm.

I would like to shift the long night sleep to approx 8pm-7am, but not sure the best way . Perhaps getting her up earlier and doing some stimulating things in the morning... Or shortening the big 3 hour afternoon nap? Seems criminal to wake her ;)

Good tip re banana, I'll try Kumara instead!

I need sleeeeep!
Posted: 10 February 2016 at 9:07am

Hi Mama5, sorry you are having a hard time at the moment. What is CIO?

It is normal for babies to cluster feed for a few hours at some stage of the day, and it generally is in the evening as you describe. At this time of day they tend to feed constantly, get quite grizzly, and not want to sleep.

I guess the best way to get through it is to know that it is normal, and there is nothing wrong with your baby. Make sure that she is having enough food, if she looks hungry she probably is, so keep offering her the breast throughout those few hours. Take it in turns with your husband walking her (even just around inside the house) and talking to her. You probably don't need to have the lights and voices down as this is her socialising time of the day.

Also I would really recommend for you to have a nap during the day when she does (if possible), so you can be awake and available for her during this time of the day. Also, it may not last forever, she may be going through a growth spurt which might be making her a bit more grumpier than usual?

I hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.

During the day she takes naps really well, she's up for about 1.5-2hrs at a time then feeds, gets drowsy or falls asleep at the breast, then goes into the cot no problem.

Then it gets to about 7 or 8pm and she WILL NOT go to sleep. The feeds are restless, wriggly and interrupted. She will grizzle and cry until about midnight (not full-on colicky crying, just tired sounding grizzles).

The only solution is for my husband to take her for walks outside in the buggy. After several half hour walks she finally seems ready and will all of a sudden have a nice relaxed feed and fall asleep. Poor DH needs to get up early for work tho!

From 7pm we keep voices and lights low, minimal stimulation and she has one serve of baby rice and banana.

If anyone has any tips please let me know. I'll try anything. Except CIO, I don't think I could go through with it ;)

xx

When did you get a positive pregnancy test?

Regarding diabeties, you can get gestational diabeties very easily if there is any tendancy there. Usually metformin helps level things out, and also eating low-carbs/reducing refined carb intake (so cakes/sugary things/drinks/white rice/etc). A blood glucose meter can let you see how each type of food effects you, so which ones are good and which are bad. Type 2 diabetes can develop at any stage - you become more and more insulin resistant over time until you insulin stops working/can't produce enough.

    Author: italianwitch
Subject: Worried
Posted: 15 December 2015 at 2:44pm

Based on my dates from my last monthly... i should be 8 weeks pregnant this week. Had a scan on Monday 14dec it turns out that i am only 5 weeks pregnant. Having another scan on Christmas eve.. hopefully it is growing well. It feels like i am having to do the risky weeks all over again, as my last pregnancy 3 years ago i miscarried at 6 weeks.

Another thing that is bugging me is... i got a call from my GP and he told me my results from my blood test last week and my blood glucose is elevated to the point indicating that i have diabetes.... although i am overweight i haven't ever had diabetes before and i am at the lowest weight i have been since giving birth to my second child 8 yrs ago.
Whether this diabetes thing has only just come about since being out of hospital this past august with pancreatitis is anything to go by.
It just seems so weird, since i have regular dietitian meetings and a surgeon that still wants to take my gall bladder out early next year (he doesn't know yet i am pregnant) telling me to stay away from sugar and carbs, which i have been doing .... that my blood glucose is high .....weird indeed.

So i am feeling very down, haven't told my partner cos i know what he is gonna say, and he make a fuss over me being down.... i don't know i guess this is just a way to get it out. Like all women on this site who are looking forward to becoming a mother first time or again, i know i am no different to the feeling of a possible loss. im 34yrs and have always wanted to have a son, even had a name picked out for the last 15 yrs.
I am just hoping that i don't miscarry again.

I googled all the side effects and couldn't find anything to confirm that... But as soon as I went off it I felt much better! Something to be aware of!!
You can also buy it from Canadian pharmacies if you can get a prescription. U.S. doctors are generally not willing to write a script for it since the F.D.A. doesn't approve it's usage. Good luck!
