I went through about a dozen undies in the first 2-3 days so get a couple of packs. I grab the Warehouse ones and go for hip ones not full briefs.

Don't take washable breast pads, just stick with disposable so you can chuck them straight out and they won't hang around and get smelly. I found t-shirts ok (and there's a sheet to cover your tummy if you want anyway). And don't forget a pen.

Unless you are leaky already you can expect to get your milk in at around day 3-4, so until then you probably won't need breast pads. I think they call them henleys or grandpa shirts, something like that? You can get them at Cotton On. Shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste & brush, hairbrush, deoderant, moisteriser, facewash & they say to take toilet paper with you - like 3 or 4 ply as the hospital paper isn't all that nice on a sore tush.

I have packed one pack of maternity pads but think I won't need them as only planning on staying one night & will use the hospital pads.

Yeah it does get warm in hospital - they keep it warm for the babies. Something to read or do (I like getting a puzzle magazine because it's easy to do a little then come back to whenever you feel like it) is good, as is having a nice bodywash for the shower.

Comfy clothes for lounging around in are quite useful - just remember, you will still have a bit of a tummy (about the same as at 7.5 months pregnant) so pack to suit. If you are considering breastfeeding, pack tops with good access - either proper breastfeeding tops or button-front shirts are good. Baggy t-shirts are good too, but I found the extra material a pain to keep out of the way when I was first getting breastfeeding figured out.
