Have been there and last time they didnt have that many species of butterflys. McKayla enjoyed petting the animals however and was a bit weirded out on the train. dont mind me - i just thought i would let you know that weekends can be busy...and you are better off to do it after the school holidays cause it gets really busy then, you cant even park in there some days..!!

you'll find the weekends there are very very busy with lots of people - and all in a smaller space than the zoo.

Following the fun of the Auckland Zoo meetup this morning -- which I had to bail early on as Emma Rose was antsing for her nap -- I thought I'd suggest a new destination: Butterfly Creek!

It's right at Auckland Airport and I've heard it's pretty awesome, although I've never been there myself.

Shall we aim for a weekend in July or early August, to give everyone time to mark it in their diaries? The call for good dates to go shall commence now!
