Emma Rose sleeps in our bed when it's too cold! But I'd imagine with twins it might get a bit crowded... unless you kick Willie out

Lately I've been putting her to sleep in a long-sleeved onesie (that's what we Yankees call a bodysuit) with pyjamas over the top, then her winter weight GroBag, then a lightweight fleece blanket tucked loosely over her. I put a folded fleece blanket down on top of the cot sheet so she sleeps on that as well. And if the Egg turns blue, I'll put the heater on low and leave it on all night. Her room is small so it warms up quickly, but even with the heater on, the Egg hasn't gone orange so it can't be too hot in there. Em usually manages to throw the blanket off and get all twisted up in the sleeping bag by morning, but her toes are warm...

my goodness, my kids must be freezing compaired to most of yours . Cailin has a singlet, pjs and duvet and hottie bottle and Jeremy has singlet, body suit, stretch n grow sheet and 2 blankets. I do have the heater going in his room, but only on low so it really just keeps the chill off.
I did read in some mag this past month that newborns should be kept in a temp of 27-28 degrees!
I thought that was an insane temp to have going at all times....just imagine our power bills!!

Its been sooo cold here in the deep south lately (the morning weather said -3 this morning but I swear it was colder)! I often worry about Elle, and if she is warm enough. I put her to bed with a, singlet, long sleeve woollen singlet, and a warm all in one (with booties on underneath). She is wrapped, and has flannelette sheets and an aircell blanket which is doubled up and crosses over her (so 4 layers I guess), her wee face was cold this morning - but the rest was ok. Our heat pump is programmed to come on at 5am, so house is warm when we get up.

Rhiannon wears a singlet and flannette pjs, plus has flannette sheets, 2 polar fleece blankets and a pure wool blanket and a heater on in her room, that is on thermostate and just keeps the chill off.

in the past week we have added a sheep skin underlay to her cot, and i have left her in her thermal top under her pjs and she has started sleepin a bit better.

I don't worry about Maya so much as she's old enough to put on some socks/another blanket/layer of clothing if she's cold. My Hannah has a woolen singlet on. Then if she has flannelette pj's on she goes in her fleece sleeveless sack. If she is wearing polar feece pj's then no sack. She has a duvet and woolen blanket on her bed. I'm amazed at how varied we all are! And it seems funny to me to have a "night" temperature of 18-20 deg in winter... but anyways, I digress.

Krystiana has gone to bed tonight in a l/s onesie, singlet, warm all-in-one suit, booties, and is wrapped in a flannelette blankie. Winter weight duvet (or actually two summer weights in one cover) and a woolen blanket as well. We have no heater for her room, our only heater in this house is a portable LPG. This is our first winter in this home so time will tell if we need an oil heater in there later, but we're ok so far. Kryssi suckles one hand (left unwrapped) so that one often gets cold because it's out of the blankets and wet

Brenna wears flanalette PJ's, her GoGo merino sleeping bag, flanalette sheets, aircell blankie and a cotton blanket doubled over. Ollie wears a woollen singlet with nappy and then I put him in a zip up sleeping bag. He has around 4 blankets plus a flannel sheet and a quilt on top. Sometimes I wonder whether he has too much blankets but he always puts his hands on top of the blankets so it doesn't quite cover his whole body. charli wears a l/s bodysuit and an all in one, she has flannette sheets, a mink blanket and a duvet on her bed. we also have an oil heater on thermostat in her room.

jack wears a l/s bodysuit and warm pj's with socks. he has flannette sheets, a blanket folded over to double it, a thin quilt and a duvet. we also put a hot water bottle in his bed to warm it up abit.

our house is soooooo freezing. we have no insulation or heating apart from a gas heater which i hate using but have to.

Sam is in a onsie, feety pj's and her swaddleme wrap, plus flannel sheets and a blanket folded in two. I should add that we have a little oil heater on low and try and keep her room at around 18 degrees.

Thomas has a long sleeved singlet, a onesie and a fleeced sleepsuit with a hood, woolen blanket under flanelette sheets, a duvet and a blanket ... we dont heat our room ...

He has his hood up to keep his head warm and to stop him from loosing heat .... he usually sleeps arms out and blankets down to his chest when I check him before we go to bed ...

Its been so cold!!! (and this is in auckland ... I must sound like a sook to mainlanders LOL )

I'm surprised how warm some of you keep the rooms, but if it works for you that's great!

Xavier wears a ss body suit/cotton singlet (whichever I've grabbed first), and either a onesie or lightweight pants and a longsleeved top. He has flannelette sheets, a polarfleece blanket & 50/50 feather/down duvet on his bed, and a woolen blanket gets added at night. We have our fire going 24/7 (except when I need to empty the firebox ) and we will put an oil heater in the boys room (when they are sharing) if it gets really cold. I use to have McKayla in just a vest and leggings and a sleeping suite. But you have to realise this one overheats really quickly and dont like too many coverings. If she sleeps with us she is in a vest and nappy and that is it. I don't do much for Daniel either, he goes to sleep in a singlet (usually woolen) and an all in one. Then is wrapped and has his sheets and a blanket. Ella ALWAYS has cold hands....and often feet too - no matter what she is wearing!

We are leaving a temp controlled heater on in her room with door open to circulate air thru.

She has all in ones (pjs with feet) and most nights sleeps in a fleece sleep sack that mum made - kind of a fleecy overnightie with no bottom so she is not enclosed. We put this over a onsie and footed pants if she is in the sleep sack. She has never been wrapped - so we dont do that.

Then she has one blanket on...she wont sleep under a sheet so straight under a blanket - mind you so do i!

Fay sleeps in a 2.5tog GroBag and we use the clothing guide on the thermometer to assess how many layers to put on her. the cardboard thermomenter that comes with the bags not the flash egg thingy. For Josh we have him in a singlet, an undersuit and then an all on one suit. He also has mittens and socks and booties on. He sleeps in a polarfleese sleep sack and then in a cotten sleep sack. He has a sheet, 2 blankets, a duvet and then another blanket on top if needed. His room is cold (but they all are at night but we are in the process of getting a heat transfer kit.

Andrew has flannelete PJ's and a singlet on. Flannelette sheets, a duvet and a quilt. He is a warm boy.

Yeah we use a wheat sack to keep Kaleb's bed warm while we feed him. Otherwise a heater on to keep temp between 18-20 since we have wooden floors in his room(its usually on all night and until good stream of sun in room in morning). He sleeps in a cotton bodysuit/wool singlet, stretch n grow and socks. He is then wrapped in a cotton wrap and sleeps in flannelette sheets with two cotton blankets (doubled over to make 4 layers) on top.

Taine is shocking for sleeping ON the bed, rather than in it, so it never matters how many blankets he has on! I put him in a woollen singlet, nappy and some woollen tights, then his pjs. Usually he is quite toasty in the morning. When we go to bed, I open their door and let the heat from the fire in. So far haven't used a heater in their room, but have a little one. We live in a 1920s house with high ceiling and polished wooden floors - love the look but it gets sooooo cold. So we have no choice but to crank up the heater - we too keep her room at around 18-20 degrees. She sleeps with a woolen singlet, an AIO and a (thin) woolen blanket on top - seems quite cosy. I was wondering this... Char has (usually)O a singlet, s/s bodysuit, polar fleece onsie, flanny sheets and 4 woolen blankies, wrapped in a safety sleep as well, she is. Her room is right next to the lounge and our fire goes 24/7, so the whole house is pretty warm all the time (and we have a nightstore in the hallway) Thing is, when I get her up for her dream feed, she has a cold head and nose, and I was wondering if I should put a hat on her? She is a tummy sleeper, and I worry a bit about over heating... Any suggestions would be super. And, before you mention it, yes I know I am naughty sleeping my baby on her tummy, but its the only way she will sleep, and she has a very very strong neck and excellent head control...

The grobag egg or any other room thermometer would probably be a great idea if you're worried about overheating.. and I think I remember seeing something on the sleepstore website about how many layers is recommended based on room temperatures... I usually have Sam in a singlet, socks and either a polarfleece onesie or a terry towelling onesie.

He has about three or four blankets and a woolen blanket under the bassinette sheet.

Rhyley has a bodysuit, all in one, grow bag (or the likes) about 4 blankets on his bed and we use an oil heater on a timer which comes on at 11pm till 1am then around 2.30am till 6am. Maddie goes to bed in polar fleece onsies or flannette pj's with a singlet under. Her bed also has several blankets on it plus we still wrap her.

Fortunately her room doesn't seem to get too cold at night, at least she hasn't complained so far. I'm interested to know what you do to keep your bub warm at night in the winter.

The gremlins sleep in a singlet (polyprop or cotton long sleeved) a terry onesie and their winter weight Gro Bags, plus I use a heater to keep the room between 18-20 degrees.
