I definately have been starting to freeze leftovers in prep for bubs arrival. But, DF comes home, opens up the freezer and eats it all anyway, haha. I found that the Asian supermarkets sell bulk lots of plastic pots with lids which are ideal for freezing stuff. You can use a permanent marker to let you know what's in there as bolognese and chilli can look similar when frozen!
Handy to write the date on it too.

Usually I have left overs, cause the sauce/recipe mixes serve 4 and there is only 2 of us. So i make up the whole recipe and divide it up before I serve dinner.

AnnieB - thanks - we had a press at work which was good like that & I used to make cheese toasties on it for lunch but the one we have at home pretty much loses all the filling - it just all spills out onto the grill - quite disappointing! (I have only tried cheese & vegemite toasties on it though).

AnnieB - this is a great idea too - I must be the only one who doesn't have a toastie sandwhich maker at the moment - I have a panini/grill press though - which isn't the same - I tried making a traditional cheese & vegemite toastie but all  the filling oozes out. I think I'll be down at the next briscoes sale for a toastie maker though

I made some bacon and egg pies so all they needed doing was heating. Made meatballs so all Dh needed to do was cook them some spaghetti and make meatballs and spaghetti. hey justme....when I get organised I will cook up a massive bolognase mix and then freeze it in smallersizes. Works for spag bol, any other pasta, lasagne, even "odd" tasting nachos/burittos etc.

Likewise a casserole can be a casserole, pie, shepherds pie etc.

and freeze some yummy desserts. hi girls, I am looking at starting to cook & freeze some meals in advance for once baby is here - for myself & DH..

Would appreciate some tried & true recipes i can use that I can cook, throw in the freezer then just pull out & thaw/defrost easily for dinner. I would definitely prefer to make the meals myself rather than buy frozen meals from the supermarket.. although this may end up being an option later too
