BS and BSDH - glad to hear you have a diagnosis, hope it sorts itself soon. Good on the specialist for getting you seen pretty quickly at the hospital. Mercedes had all the tests etc. done when she had her apnoea, it's pretty scary stuff, but she seems to have gotten over that one on her own so with a bit of luck BBS will too.

so it was your turn at the kiddie hospital today at least they seem to have ruled out lots of scary horrible things. yeah i am being sarcastic! but the staff were lovely and DH got given lunch - why do hospital sammies always have egg in them ( i hate egg)

Oh yeah - why were we there - well went to doc finally about Gabriellas breath holding funy episodes...well he asked us to go straight to kids first and see spec he was calling- well got there and noone had received a call (oh this is once we got some sense out of the non speaking security guard who controls the elevators!)

saw spec, and ella has had every part of body poked and prodded, eyes, tummmy, heart all checked, all kinds of testing her....and then had ecg as they thought they could hear a murmur...OMG!!! turned out a very slight one they werent worried about for an "active baby"

doc and Dh left the room, ella had an episode!!! rushed to nurse outside and she only saw ella having ended it and we ruled out seizures then. In the end the spec and her "boss" said they think it is Overexaggerated Startle reflexes!!! Yep she is getting a big fright over nothing....Im going to take that diagnosis and run with it....and hope it goes away. They want me to not intervene in her episodes and let her come out of thee by herself - but no more than 20 secs....

THEN she FINALLY had one in front of mum tonight who said - yes it think it is her startle reflexes...Damnit could have saved us 4 hours at kidzfirst!!!!

final diagnosis = its a mystery to all and sundry and we hope it is OSR and she will grow outta it!!!
