Thanks Gandt. I feel pretty proud of myself. So much pressure to start early. Been a bit stink being the odd one out all the time. But hey, I know that I did the best thing for Andy. Onwards and upwards now I reckon. Must say that the new poop was a bit horrific to start with! Need a gas mask!

I've bid on a Baby Food and Beyond book and have won a couple of organic cook books. Hopefully they might have some good ideas as I'm not very creative in the kitchen. I want to make the most of the next 3 months and try Andy on everything so that he doesn't end up fussy like his Daddy!

Quadriple ditto for Alison and Simon Holst's book - tis great. The Australian Women's Weekly softcover books for Babies and Toddlers are also great. Andy has been on solids for 6 days. He LOVES it! So much fun. Gave him some apples yesterday and got a very cool sucking on a lemon face! Hehehe

I would also say it is time to scour through your bounty pack for the couple of cook books that they slot in there as well.
Plunket has a wonderful Iron resource cook book, just give them a call. It is one of their group hand outs.

Personally I just stuck to age appropriate foods and mixed them in to "concoctions".
Meat, fry it, boil it, then whizz it up and make into ice cubes.
You can do the same with steak, chicken and pretty much any other meat. Unfortunately some can come out dry, mince is a pretty nasty consistancy and most kids hate the stuff.
Any water you get off from boiling, add gluten free cornflour mixed in water to make thick.
Then it is your veges and fruit. Whizz them up - separately and ice cube them as well.
When it comes to meals I liked to throw in combinations that *I* think would be nice. So chicken and apricot with broccoli? Courgette and Carrot with Steak and Spud.
You can add little seasonings like pineapple to make things like chicken and pumpkin a bit more interesting. I think Pork, apple and courgette was a good one.
Try sticking to having them separate at the beginning, then as tastes evolve mix in mix in the good stuff with the screwed up face stuff.

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a really good baby/toddler food cookbook? One with nice simple everyday food in it. Have been looking online but there are so many. I don't want to buy one and find that it only has posh ingredience that can only be bought from a wee boutique store in Parnell or food that that isn't even available in NZ! Lol
