I had a 3d scan at Ascot hospital, Greenlane, auckland at 20 weeks. At that time they had an introductory special for $60!!!. The down side is - if it is for an antomy scan they have to scan the 'normal'way first (2D). For me, by the time they changed to the 3D stuff (end of 2D scan) the baby turn away from the "'camera'" and all we got was from her waist up and the back of her head!! We were able to get up and change position to hopefully turn her, but she wasnt having it!! I know Ascot hospital in Greenlane (Auckland) do them. They recommend that you get them done at 26-30 weeks. It costs $160 and you get a picture and a dvd.

I think it is extremely expensive...and not really worth it unless you have extra cash lying around.

I think no matter where they do them in NZ, the price will be the same. And if you don't have referral from your LMC it is even more expensive.

There are places that do them here in NZ but I'm not sure how much they cost and where you can have them in the South Island.
