we did them all on schedule and didnt really hhve any probs except the last one...HUGE bump for two weeks on her hip but mum says it was bad technique (*cough ex nurse**)not the vax

well we got sent home from Dc today at noon!!! daddy had to go get her cause i had court! she had green snot, and coughed so much in her sleep she spewed - think they paniced cause there is a bug going round that is pretty bad! due to the pneumonia history and fact we are flying tomorrow we are taking no chances - doc say her this arvo and we have a plethora of drugs to take with us...

BTW can we take liquids /medicines on plane internally now or have they gone stupid? might have to ask this in general i think....

If you started MenZb at the 6 week jabs then you have to get the 10 month one. I didn't do that, I opted for Josh to start them at 6 months and he only had to have 3. There are pros and cons for the way I did it but i'm glad I did it that way.

Hails I'd listen to Plunket because I got a letter in the mail saying that Lucas HAD to get his ten month MenzB jab otherwise the other three are ineffective! ...I know we'd rather not get them done, but best to jump on the phone and book it .

Hmmmm....last time I was at the doctor I mentioned the 10 month jab, and he said they didn't do them at 10 months anymore, yet my plunket nurse told me to make sure she'd had them, so not sure what I am supposed to do about that? To be honest I was secretly happy she didn't have to have the jab.

Might start trying Elle on one sleep, have just put her down for the 2nd sleep now so will give her some time see if she goes to sleep, strike that - just went to check on her and she is out to it, so will keep perservering with the 2 sleeps.

Shaz - I am still hopeful about getting back to my old size (in the bra department), I have these gorgeous bras sitting in my drawer that I still don't fit. Still a cup size bigger

BS - hope Ella cuts those teeth soon, I posted in the other thread about what we have used.

Oh and I got a payrise today YAY!!! Only $1 hour extra but I am not complaining. I've managed to stop Bfing Alyssa during the day so that she will be all ready for DC . She only has a feed before bed time then....she is still waking for 1-2 feeds at night as well. Not sure how I will cope with that when I go back to work.
I'm kind of over BFing now but as there is no way she will drink any other kind of milk I will probably keep up these last feeds for a few more months until she is well and truly settled at DC.

Yup Lucas has only been having one nap (usually 1-2 hours) per day for 2 months now ...never been one for sleeping! And at night still waking twice which I don't mind really, it's become a habit.

He's breastfeeding FIVE times ...yes FIVE times a day ON TOP OF his solids (3 meals). Had his MenzB 10 month Jab today, been screaming all tonight and has been hobbling along with one leg raised in the air all day :(! He felt rather warm before too, so maybe a bit of a temp! ....not pleasant at all!

But OMG he weighs 12kg exactly!! ...it was only a month or two ago I was asking for help/advice on his solids because he was losing weight (was just over 10kg) ...certainly piling the weight back on at a very fast rate, my breastmilk is working wonders too obviously! I constantly have people asking how old he is, and commenting on how he looks older and is 'such a big boy'...Like I haven't noticed LOL (hard not to notice when my arm is constantly dead & back sore from lugging him around)

yep - ella is refusing to sleep more than one a day now....has been for weeks...they were trying to force two a day but now her proper carer is back it is one sleep as she goes with what ella wants...trouble is that one sleep is ONLY 50 mins most of the time!!! OMFG!!!! sometimes we get up to 1 hr 45 mins! sometimes!

Ella gave daddy grief tonight - i was at hairdresssers so he picked her up...he came home and put her down for a "nap" - at 5 30pm!!!!!! for an hour!!!! and then wondered why she was still resisting going to bed at 30pm! hmmmm wonder why! at 8pm she was out to it!

She has red rash on one cheek, more HUGE bumps, she cut two on right top and back ones that are double but left are cutting now...mega runny nose and is a grot!!! cute but still a grot!

Leish -Noahs pressie will be here waiting for him. Wow - can't believe Noah's birthday is on Thursday! Was thinking the other day it was drawing closer!

Just posted in our new toddler thread, its gone soo fast! They are still bubba's though!

Been super busy with work, we are down at least 2 chefs (well really down 3 but NEED 2 more), its sooo hard to find chefs in Dunedin atm, I blame it on the crap payrates they seem to pay here!

How many sleeps are everyones bubs getting atm. I'm back. We had Josh's birthday on Friday night it was really cool; still haven't uploaded the photos will do that at some stage.

Josh is really sick at the moment and i'm tossing up to take him to A&E or wait till tomorrow. He's all chesty and has a sore throat (I think) his tongue is all swollen and is purple at the tip .

I just thought I'd pop in and say hi!
I'm often lurking around but not sooo good at the posting bit We had a very quiet 1st b'day celebration for Gina which was just as well as all of us (Gina, me & DH) had a nasty cold that weekend and were feeling totaly miserable! Good on you BS for organising a big bash! Have you checked the likes of PakNsave for paper plates too? We often get our ones from there but they are not themed to maybe not much help.

You can get soft tonka stuff M2L. Its really cool. And you can get plastic tonka trucks. Christopher had heaps. He really loved Little Tykes trucks when he was younger too. They are great and we still have lots of his Little Tykes stuff - the more expensive things that we couldn't part with. It's nearly 10 years old and still in really good nick.

What an early start to the day BS. Hope you get to relax a bit. Yay for grannie being home though. I hope she had a great time and I bet Gabriella will have a couple of souvenirs from there. I love Raro. So want to go back. Mum is going in April to try and secure her own piece of land (we have lots of family land but she wants to build on her own - avoid any potential conflict etc) so fingers crossed that works out well and we will have an excuse to go every year!! Woo hoo

M2L - you can get soft tonka....try toyworld etc..and there are soft "cars" from the movie too. otherwise try any of the busy basics, playskool or good ole fisher price....hmmmm our lounge room floor would give you an idea LOL!!!!

Daddy went and got Ella her first life jacket yest - soooo cute! and she loved it. Then he got her a birthday pressie from him too....one guess cause it came from the boating store too! LOL

BS can't wait to see what Ella's big B'day pressie is, she is so lucky to have a Mummy like you going all out for her 1st B'day. I'm not going all out, just a family affair because I know Lucas will be spoilt rotten with presents and like the cake anyhoo, he's still young! I will do a bit more for his 2nd B'day.

I'm stuck on what to get for Lucas' B'day ...what have you all been buying? He seems to like the tonka trucks/diggers my Nana has up at her place but I think he's a little too young for them as they're made of metal? ...Argh. My parents are also stuck on what to give him, as are his Great Grandparents ...

Been cleaning the house like a madwoman today, dusted every nook and cranny and vacuumed all surfaces and corners of ceilings ....eww I HATE dandy long legs (is that what you call them?) ...sadly the OCD is still there from pregnancy but oh well ...can never be too clean

If Ella's B'day is on the 8th we wont be in Auckland we have to go up North that weekend for a thing with DH's family. We'll probably be leaving on Wed or Thurs.

I sent off my letter to work the other day and will be going back on the 2nd of April. I'll start off working Mon, Wed-Fri for the first two months because DC can only have her Mon, Wed and Fri, so Mum will have her Thursdays. Then from June she will be able to go full time, but I want to still only work four days so I'll have Wednesdays off from then on. I so don't want to leave her BUT I soooooo need the money!!!!

well i finally got around to doing invites - gave up on the cool online ones cause too much fiddling around to make sure they didnt go to spam...ugh!

Alyssa seems to have a permanent bruise on her forehead at the moment, she never looks where she is going and just as she is about to walk into something she turns around. Lucky she has such long hair or people would be calling CYPS.

No one took any photos the other day at Macca's. Such a shame it would have been nice to get one of the girls together. OMG Poor Elle. Andrew had that a few weeks ago and the first dr we saw said viral and we went back the next day and saw our gp and hello throat infection.

Josh just had his first (of many) big accident. He can usually go up and down the few steps we have out our back door so I don't worry when he goes outside. I was getting his bottle ready for bed and I heard crash and then instant crying and blood everywhere. Josh had fallen smack on his nose and it was pouring out with blood and he was screaming. Andrew was in the bath so I raced over to my neighbours and got her to come over and watch Andrew while I went to the dr. I knew he hadn't broken his nose as there is no bone there yet to break anything but the bleed was a bit concerning. So he got raced through (pi$$ed a few people off as they had been waiting a long time as there had been a near death of a child with an asthma attack) and the bleeding settled and Josh went back to being happy. We finally saw our dr who was a bit concerned as it looked a little raw still inside (so we may get random bleeds) and there is a lot of swelling.

Poor boy is now sound asleep in his cot as he had his first day at daycare. He loved it and was very tired as he only slept for an hour there. Now second day there and he going in with a swolen nose and pamol to take during the day.

DH realised tonight that a walking bubba is not always fun...he went to toilet and left en suite dooo open...LOL in walks ella right between his legs and pointed at what was going on...i had to rush in and grab her before she got "wet"...Poor dh didnt know what to do...not like he could let go huh? Man I have had the biggest weekend! Went to the wedding on Saturday (which was lovely!!), and then ended up being conned into going into town with friends afterwoods. Finally at 4am stumble in the door to find our friend (who was staying here whilst looking after Elle) up, and our wee girl had decided she didn't want to sleep most of the night. Turns out she didn't want to sleep as she had a raging temp, which I discovered the next morning, when I got her up, she was fair roasting!!! took her temp and it was 39.6, so off to docs we went. Sat there for 1.5 hours while they tried to bring her temp down ( feeling incredibly seedy, as I drunk FAR to much the night before), finally got temp down to 38.8 and they sent us home. Poor wee girl is still running a temp around 38.6, but it has come down a wee bit. Doctor thinks its viral so nothing we can do but keep giving her Nurofen and Pamol, and keeping her as cool as possible. Am soooo tired today though, had about 6 hours sleep from Sat morning till now. Early night for me tonight!!!!

Mum2lucas - yay for Lucas for taking solids - you must be relieved with that! Oh and we live in Dunedin.

BS - did you get pics of Alyssa and Ella together? How cute would that have been! LOL yeah we had to go get our tickets for raro from pakuranga yest...and Ella conned me into buying her that horse flashlight from farmers...LOL!!! It is cool tho...and was 20% off....

yeaa think it is just us in sth . east auck...shaz is in west, YM is centralish, Leish is in wellywood, Becks is in Palmy, and the others who pop in are all over...

have now got the party sussed - made bookings for stuff yest. However gave up on venue - gardens are booked for a plant sale both areas all weekend (argh!), old flatbush school is booked, Butterfly creek - booked! and wouldnt block off area i needed or allow stuff to come anyways....so total change of plan now....

Aww sounds like there is no stopping Ella with her walking, I can't wait till Lucas is off like a rocket!

Where is everyone from ...I see a couple of us March Mummies are from Auckland, anyone from out South? (I recall BS mentioning working in Manurewa) ...we are just out in Papakura!

Lucas is taking his solids well now which is a great relief! Although doesn't seem to be sleeping as well ...mind you he only woke twice last night which is incredibly good for him ...usually its 4-5times! He's close to walking ...he stands on his own for 5-10 mins at a time and is getting around everywhere on his feet (whilst holding onto things) so not long now

So how is everyones Bubs? Not long till their first Birthday's now!!

ugh minor disaster this am....Dh bougth ella in when she woke up and i was brushing my teeth. She bought tiger with her and demanded cuddle...fair enough cause she hadnt seen me for 12 hours...LOL...
picked her up still brushing my teeth and went to spit...and at exact same time she dropped tiger, water was running I spat on him and he was soaking wet from tap too...

poor ella was so upset at tiger being dropped in it! LOL - he is now hanging on the line! poor tiger...she was then a grot all morning and cried when daddy left her at DC....think she upset him a bit actually.

we met up with Shaz and Alyssa today...was good to have them both walking around....Alyssa is so steady and fast!!! i put it down to two big sisters...was soooo cute!!!!!

Ella had her first McD happy meal - nuggets and fries and demolished the lot! She wasnt sure of the playground tho - kinda like DC but it wasnt....LOL!!!

Josh was very cleaver just before. I'm just getting him used to the potty I don't care if he sits on it and then gets off it again 2 seconds later. But just before we got home and I needed to change his nappy so took it off and popped him on the potty. As soon as he sat down on it he started grunting and did poos!!!!! I was so proud

oooh i managed to find the tots to teens mag today - got the last two in the library only to find a massive load in whitcoulls at botany...girl said to take what i wanted = heck they are free...so will send one to aunty in usa and to the old aunt in oz too.....tee hee....my "inside cover baby" LOL!!!!

I can't believe that Josh and Charlotte are one! Its all going to fast! Hope they are having great days!

Finally went shopping today for the wedding this weekend, bought a green top and ended up buying some Doosh pants to go with it ( I Doosh pants, they are the bestest pants in the world!!!), I have dropped a size as well, no longer a 14! Now only one more size to go down and I'll be into all my pre-preg clothes!!! Still not sure about the top though, lady talked me into it, although I don't have much choice now as no time to go get anything else. Oh well!

Shaz - Elle loves ripping paper as well! All the junk mail gets ripped, while I am trying to read it.

I'm treating myself tomorrow to a Brazilian finally , don't know it its a treat but its something i've wanted for a long time.

I know 2 days to go and then 1 week till he is home for 4 days.

I just gave Josh a pair of Sandels for his birthday he's not walking but looked so cute in them this morning. I got a photo of Josh and Andrew sitting together with the same sandels on - very sute. Will post it later tonight once i've taken the photos off the camera.

Yeah the main reason I haven't bothered with shoes was because I know how easily you can ruin little feet, but at the park yesterday it would have been better for her to have something on so she could walk on the bark as she didn't seem to like the feel. I see Bobux are now making early walkers so they might be worth looking at.

Yeah we had a nice day. Alyssa and the gremlins eyed with other up for a few minutes then Alyssa tried to push them around but they weren't fazed by my bully. Then they proceeded to eat all the bark and dirt off the ground so all in all I think they had fun.
Now really must invest in some shoes for little miss. They are just a free mag that is handed out. They always have copies at starship when I go and sometimes they are delivered to our mail box.
I can get you one from school or you can have mine if you can't find it.

haha we get lots of grunting here too but she's quite proud of it and doesn't hide. Though once she has finished she will go to the change mat. I don't think she likes the feel of it. Hopefully that means toilet training will be easy.

I will finally be getting my car back today at about 1.30pm they will be picking me up to go and pay for it...and it's only going to cost $1096.81 . we do have an appt with an agency who are keen on her...but we ran out of time to do it last week so will try to regroup to do it...right in city UGH!

we have the crouching now too...she is getting steadier and walks mega fast holding one finger but on own we get about 6 steps then onto her butt..no tears tho - funny boy you are Josh!!!

You can think of it as a contribution to your fundraising Shaz. I think its a great idea and have been thinking of little fundraising things I can do down here on your and Tasha's behalf. Chocolates are a great fundraiser. Those things sell themselves. Well they do at my work!!

Alyssa is so clever with her walking And cute on the phone!!

Noah doesn't seem too interested in walking yet. But he is interested in tantrums!! We don't have back arching yet but boy does he have a loud voice!!

I'm starting to get more motivated about going even though Dh says we'll never do it. Which is another reason for turning everybodys kind offer down as I don't want to collect allot of money then not go. We'd have to figure out how to give it back or what to do with it . (also it find of makes me feel funny taking money off of people who probably need it themselves)
But I've been trying to think of ways to raise money for ourselves.
I could try and sell some stuff on TM but have no idea how...will have to get DH to help me.
I may also see if Natasha's school will let us sell Chocolates at the tuck shop as we can get the $2 fundraising bars through KWA it doesn't make allot of money but would definitely get Tasha some spending money.
Last time we did heaps of sausage sizzles outside the Warehouse but it's a bit hard with Alyssa in tow. Hmmm have to brainstorm and will chat again with the coordinator and see how there fund raising is going.
I know that the Arthritis Foundation will pay for the Conference entry.

Have been super busy with work at the moment, we keep getting huge cruise ships in and they all come up to the castle, and then we have to feed them all! And lots of weddings, I think we are up to our 37th for the season with about 14ish still to go.

Wow all the kids seem to be doing sooo well! I can't believe we are on the countdown to ONE, OMG how did that go so fast!!!!

BS - can't wait to see Gabriella in the JK catalouge!

We were all so excited when Alyssa started to walk that we would clap and cheer her when she fell over, now if she falls on her butt she claps and grins.

But we have had a few tears from her hitting her head on things and now she walks under the table and clonks her head on the side bits which hang down a bit lower.

This is such a cool age. Alyssa is soaking things up like a sponge. She knows who everybody is now so gets the names right all the time. I'm Mummum, DH is Dada, Nana is very clear and Tata is Tasha she hasn't started saying anything for Alex yet which is so funny as I'm sure she loves her the best hehe.
She grabs my cell phone and says hello, well she means hello but can't pronounce it very well. So cute though. She is starting to get demanding and will point at things she wants and get frustrated if we don't do what she wants. Yay I always said the terrible twos start about 1!! It's kind of funny at the moment but I'm sure I will soon be over the tantrums as she already does the back arching and screaming if she doesn't get her own way.
She has figured out how to stand up with out pulling on something so the walking is complete now, if she falls over she doesn't need to crawl to anything she just gets back up. I caught the first time camera on Friday. She can also squat down and pick up toys so she really is my big girls now.

Gee am I a proud Mummy or what
You'd think I hadn't had two others and even one that walked earlier than this.

well weekend is nearly over AGAIN!!! a three or four day weekend would be nice....LOL!

Ella went off tonight no worries and DH isnt home to wake her thank goodness! SHe had awesome swim lesson this morning and was kicking more than ever and puts her face into water when she moves along now...chokes occasionally but mostly is either holding her breath or blowing bubbles. She loves to sit on the side and jump into my arms too...talk about a brave bubba!

She had her first kids meal at a food court today. LJS - she loved the boat it came in and apparently the food tasted better in that...for some reason

I can't wait to get back to work now....well can't wait to be earning some money anyway.
My car broke down yesterday morning. I was taking Natasha to an appointment at Starship but luckily I had only got as far as Te Atatu South when it gave up on me and I managed to reverse to the side of the road. Lucky I hadn't made it to the motorway.
As we were in the area where my SIL live I said to Tasha that I'd ring her and get her to drop Tasha to school as there was no way we were going to make the appointment. And who should drive past and go into Foodtown but my SIL. So sent Tash over to ask her and off they went. Meanwhile Alyssa and I waited for the AA then he couldn't do anything so we waited for the tow truck....Now it is going to cost over $1000.00 dollars to fix and it wont be ready until Monday So no car for the whole weekend.
And our other car died ages ago and sits growing cobwebs on the driveway. So really want to get back to earning so we can buy a new car.
AND I had to email our Travel Agent and say we probably wont be going on the "Kids with Arthritis" trip to LA in July because we just wont be able to save enough and buy a new car as well I'm so hoping that they get sponsorship for Natasha and a caregiver then maybe, just maybe we will be able to scrape together some money to take the rest of us. I really really want to go.

Thats ok Leish, swimming meets are always busy.

I'm on the countdown to Josh's birthday now. 1 week to go , my baby won't be a baby anymore . He starts his pre visits at daycare next week. He's been to the nursery a few times before but this time i'll be leaving him for a while there and then he starts on the 18th doing fulltime hours. I'm looking forward to and not looking forward to it at the same time. I know he is going to love it there and I know most of the staff there from when Andrew was there. I got to choose his focus teacher as Andrew had been there already so that was nice for me to get who I know.

He won't be wlaking by the time he turns 1 (well I don't think he will be) but i'm not worried.

Just sorting out his party will be on the 22nd of February as daddy will be home then.

We had the nicest day yesterday, good weather, our friends came out to see us and we all sat in the sun and drunk some beer, then we watched Saw4 (scary, and gross). I love public holidays!

Off shopping today for something to wear next weekend, ughhh, I can't be bothered

ugh sorry Leish - frantic day and spent it all out of the office!! even had to drive home real quick and pick up suit jacket DH kindly took out of my car on weekend...heck on rely on stuff being in the same place!!! UGH!!!

Ella seems happy - her carer was back at DC today - and what a huge difference in that bubbas room in one day!!! Ella was playing the ignoring / Im gonna punish you for going away game with Charlie her carer. I said to her "ella wheres charlie" and she looked everywhere but at charlie then quickly looked at her and looked away and pretended she didnt see her....Oh dear poor charlies heart is breaking that her bubba wont give cuddles yet! was very funny tho! LOL!!!

Hey BS. Didn't hear from you today. Busy day in court? I love Gabriella's FP outfit. It is super cute. I love the little leggings and the colours!! Very cute. And yay for Raro. Have you been before? Its lovely and very relaxing. You guys should have a blast.

We didn't have any spare time Becks. It was really full on and we were all shattered by the end of the afternoon sessions. It was a great weekend but long and happy to be home this weekend. Christopher did really well though. 8 medals - 2 gold and 6 silver - so I guess it was worth it. Noah loved it. He loves going to the meets. He gets lots of attention and laps it up. He was so cute crawling up beside the pool and yelling at the swimmers and pointing his finger. Dam it just wrote a whole heap and then Alyssa got hold of the mouse and lost it all. I'll abbreviate now.
Have been trying to wean Alyssa but have given up on Milk as she hates it so, so far dropped the morning (11am) feed for a few weeks, then yesterday dropped the 4pm feed and she was fine. Feed her at 7.30pm then another dream feed at 11pm when I went to bed and she didn't wake up until 6.45am so that was almost like a full nights sleep yippee. I hope it lasts!!!! Will see how she goes tonight. But she needs to not be BF during the day when she goes to daycare starting April 1st.
DC rang today to say they have three days available from the date I want so she will start then and go full time on June the 2nd. So that saves me frantically trying to find a new one. I will work four days so one day off with me and Mum will have her one day for those first two months. Although I'm yet to ask Mum as she has gone off to Rotorua with my Cousin who is visiting from the UK.

Wow - Ella and Alyssa - clever bubba's walking! Elle is not quite at that stage but don't think its too far away, she LOVES walking behind her stride to ride, she turns one of her feet out though when she is walking - is that normal?
