Well my monster yesterday has gone from being a crawling boy to standing while holding something to creeping along the furniture all in one day . I'm happy but i'm not IYGWIM.

I know he can sit he just chooses not to. So we have some exercises for him to do at home to get him to sit just waiting for them to be sent to us in the post. But I can remember a few of them so i'll be starting that today. He just loves being on his tummy (which isn't all that bad as some children hate being on their tummies. I'm hoping that going to daycare next year will help him as well.

Could be Andrew was a big boy at the same age and then once he started walking got skinny and is now losing weight .

I have just been back at Plunket to see a Paed. Neuro. Developmental Therapist for Josh as he doesn't like to sit. he can sit but chooses not too. So she did some things with him and I have to do them at home with him to get him used to sitting. Going to be interesting as he cries when he is sitting. If no progress then it back to see her after the new year. She did think there is something wrong with his hips but she did the checks and they came back all good.

Well i got my little fatty his 9 month check done and he is a little fatty 10.96kgs  and 79cm long. He is the average height and weight of a 15 month old baby. His length is off the scale.

We got a toothbrush and some tooth paste at his check as well.

Josh had his first xmas party today. Andrew's daycare had their annual xmas bbq, this time instead of doing it centre by centre they had all 4 centres (the Nursery and Preschool, Feilding, Montersorri and After School Care) all together for a kite day at one of the local parks. It was a beautiful day for it and we had yummy bbq food.

Josh had a field day with Andrew's friends and he meet his teachers for next year (including his focus teacher who stole him away from me for a bit and Josh didn't even care ) and loved the food including the chocolate fish he got given.

Josh also met his little friend Jamie who is a week older than Josh, his mum was Andrew's focus teacher when he was in the nursery and we had a joke that I was going to be early and she was going to be late and we were right .

And even better they saw his nappies and he can go there with them

YAY for crawling, Josh is comando crawling and boy does he get around, I left the room for a few minutes and he was in Andrew's bedroom.

He started clapping today - so cute but I bit of a pain as I was trying to feed him his dinner.

Well my next random thing that Josh can is whistle. he has been blowing through his lips when he wakes up and has now started to make a whistling sound. It's very cute as he looks around wondering where the noise came from.

Yep i'm taking them. There is a long post about me in the PND threads something about i'm heading to the dr. I had a good talk with my dr about 2 months ago when everything hit a head and I just crashed. A few friends of mine said they never noticed any change in me but I knew there was.

If you have a good dr then they will be able to help you out.

Well we saw our dr (again - seriously I see this guy at least once a week, but he is lovely) and he's not impressed with the rash and when I told him I had been putting cream on it (stuff he gave us for a similar rash on the backs of his knees) he decided to give me a different cream to try (a stronger one).

While I was there we had a chat about my drugs and me getting some more bloods done. So he gave me another script for my happy pills and told me when to get my bloods done.

Well we are heading back to the dr again today. Josh has a nice rash on his legs (I think is from the oatmeal reaction) so who knows what happens next. I know that I have to read all the labels on foods now and not get anything with oatmeal in it. So shopping is going to take a little bit longer now.

Modern Cloth Nappies

Yep every baby is different. I think it is something in the wipes that we are using that may be reacting to his butt so i'm giving them a break for a bit to see if that will help. I'm going to give all my nappies and inserts a good hot wash on Sunday to see if that will help as well. I'll just use old flats and covers for the day.

DC "should" be changing every 2 hours (well that is the policy of our DC), but have a look at their nappy policy to make sure. When Andrew was in Huggies (I was a nappy snob ) and at daycare I told them they could leave him a bit longer than the 2 hours as Huggies do last a lot longer but their policy was in place - so I ended up changing to Giggles.

Can't be nappies as we are using MCN's fulltime. But I think it did start from when he had to be in Huggies (haven't used them since) when he was sick.

I'm getting some wipes this afternoon when I get back to Stacey's to help her again.

I know Josh is a big boy but I was looking at Andrew's book at the same time and he also was a big boy but has totally thinned out. Once Andrew was up and running (who walks these days ) he lost a heap of weight and is now a skinny tall boy - so hopefully Josh will do the same.

He is crawling in his own way - Just ask Stacey, he was all over her living room this morning while I was helping her cut out fabric - can't wait for her website to go live.

I'm also going away from wet wipes (treasures, pams etc) and moving to cloth ones. I can't get rid of this rash that Josh has, its a lot better but is still there and now his inner thighs are raw and it hurts him and we can't see our dr till next Monday but I have some cream that I can put on him.

OMG I got Josh weighed at the dr's to see how much pamol I could give him and he is a very healthy 11.2 kgs

He'll have his 9 month check done soon so that may change (as that was done on the dr's scales) and then i'll be able to find out how tall he is as I know he has grown that was too.

Well so much for his butt getting better. I had to take him back to the dr again just before. I rang up and asked to see our dr that we see and was told he's fully booked.

So I told I have to see him as we have been seeing him for the past week about this issue and its a follow up. So she tells me come down and we'll get him in. I take him down we go in and see the dr. I take Josh's nappy off and he screws up his face and wonders what the hell is going on with his butt. Walks off and is gone for about 5-10 minutes while Josh is laying on the bed screaming in pain. Dr comes back and tells me that I need to keep all poo, urine etc off his skin - easier said than done.

So now we are on the 3rd different cream - this time an antifungal cream and Josh also has silicone put on his butt. That is going to stop anything going on his butt. I'm not allowed to use wipes, cloths, anything on his butt only water. So to clean any solidish waste off him I have to shower him - which I have been doing anyway so much nicer for him.

I have to take him back on Monday to see if we have an improvement - i'm so hoping we do. Tomorrow will be interesting when we are out for the afternoon, i'm hoping like crazy that he doesn't do poos.

But a good thing he is back to eating 3 solid meals a day, but still heaps of milk and i'm not worried about the amount of milk he wants to drink.

I have no idea, but i do know that it is finally starting to get better now with the cream and the antibiotics.

He has started to eat Yoghurt (he's almost 8 months, but it was on dr's advice to get him eating it) as it has stuff in it that is hopefully going to help his gurgly tummy.

Poor little boy. I had to take a poo sample to the lab tonight as after 1 week the dr so doesn't know what is going on in there. He could here is moving around a lot. Even thou if we get a result from the lab there isn't anything we can do as he is too young to take anything to stop the pooing. So now instead of wiping his bum I take him straight to the shower and clean him there - so much nicer for his bum. The dr said its going to take a good 2 weeks for him bum to clear up. If one good thing has come out of it, I ain't using disposibles anymore. I washed my Petite Fuzzi's and Josh goes to bed with one of them on stuffed with a lot in there. Now I just need to get rid of my left overs.

We have teeth. 3 of them all came at the same time. I had and still have one upset little man. I'm taking him back to the dr again today as he is pooing every 5 minutes (I kid you not, I had him nappy of for 15 minutes to help the rash and he pooed 4 times) and this has been going on for a week now.

Ha I had a smoke for the first time last week due to some very stressful times (so not wanting to start again) so i'm taking myself back off the them and only had 1 today - I had no need to have any more than that. I was bad when I was smoking full on after having Andrew.

Now Josh has a very bad nappy rash, poor little boy cried everytime I cleaned his bum today. When he had his shower tonight I saw how red it was on the back side and felt so sorry for the poor boy. I'm taking atrip to the dr tomorrow as its very bad. I'll need to go out and buy some nappy liners for his nappies.

Big spew in his bed, so far none today. I am feeling sick now. Sore throat and heavy chested (and has nothing to do with the 2 smokes I had yesterday ) all I want to do is curl up in bed, so it's going to be an early night for me tonight, the wshing can wait till tomorrow.

Josh was sick again just before again in his sleep and slept through it. So once he woke up he had a shower and then a good feed from me and half a bottle of milk and back to bed. If it continues i'll be thinking it ain't viral and go to the dr.

Only because antibiotics won't work for a viral infection only for a bacterial infection. I didn't bother taking Josh to the dr, I thought he may of had an ear infection but he stopped pulling on it late Saturday night (he had been pulling on it all day Saturday) and went to sleep fine and had no issues laying down.

I'm sick of viral infections. Josh had one over the weekend and he even threw up in his sleep yesterday afternoon and continued to sleep covered in vomit. Hopefully he is now over it as I can't get the washing dry today (of course he gets sick once the weather turns to crap) and he is in his last sleep sack.

I just saw the pics and she is a little cutie.

After taking some of the advice from the people I saw at the Parent and Child show, Josh is now finger food and eating the red tins of baby food. He is loving beef, potato and pumkin at the moment - hopefully it continues.

I sent you a PM about the grommets - I forgot if you want I can give you the information sheet to have a look at if you want. We got it from the specialist when we first saw him in 2005.

All cleared up now - Andrew is saying he has sore ears at night but he is off to the specialist at the beginning of next month and i'm going to be getting a grommet put back in.

Vix, give her a spoon to play with while you have your one to feed her, that way she has her thing to play with and you can still control the one with food going in.

Well after my trip to the Parent and Child show I have learnt a few things about my little man. He is a finger food boy not a feed with the spoon boy. So last night I gave him some bits of banana and they were eaten. This morning for lunch I gave him some cooked carrot sticks and more banana and that was eaten as well. He has been sucking on rice crackers as well so he has by passed the baby food and gone straight to feeding himself. I'm going to try "baby food" at dinner time and start at the beginning with the same food over and over again to get the taste.

Wow she is growing. I'm getting JOsh weighed in a few days i'm sure that now he is eating again (i didn't jinx it ) he has put a bit of weight on and OMG he is growing out of his 00 clothes in length but still fits 000 in his body.

Can't remember if I said but Josh is rolling around and around and around everywhere.

And I forgot to add:

rolling both ways and forever moving around the lounge now. We had a tooth, bottom left eye tooth (weird random child to get that tooth first not the middle ones) it hasn't come through properly just a little white blob in his gum. I think I have to get his MenZb jab soon as well.

He is eating again, I know i'll probably jinx myself but this afternoon he ate 2/3's of a jar of food!!!!!!

We got an answer, he has tonsilitis just like his big brother so both are on antiboitics (the same one so we have to make sure we give the right one to each boy as Andrew's is a higher dose) and now hopefully he will eat.

Well I am totally confused and still stuck with Josh. Tried the solids first and he still refused them, so i'm going to get him seen by our dr and hopefully we can see a paed. I could be cheeky tomorrow and get him seen by the paed tomorrow when Andrew is seen.

She loves Josh  - she's looking forward to travelling with him - next to him in the back seat. I'm thinking it may be the best way to go.

How cool waving - I remember Andrew doing that. I am always told by my mum that I waved to myself when waving goodbye to people.

Unfortunetly no he's not one for finger food - he has choked on everything like that I have given him.

I'll have Carina with me so i'm sure i'll have some help there. I have even thought about putting him in the pushchair and lift it up so its in the sitting position - i'm sure i'll probably do that. I've got a tri pillow he loves sitting on the ground with it behind him.

Josh got to sit in a bumbo today he loved it.

Well tonight he ate a whole jar of his favourite Only Organic, country chicken. He crashed out after he ate it so *fingers cross* he is ok with it.

But over the weekend milk feeds will be so much easier as i'm not taking my highchair all the way up to Napier, and I don't have enough room in the car for it.

Done, I know i'm not going to cut down on milk feeds if he's not going to eat food - how stupid do I look (no answer needed ).

I'm going to try and get in contact with MY plunket nurse and have a chat to her next week.

Well I saw the most unhelpful Plunket Nurse ever - I want to tell them how unhelpful she is but wouldn't know who to talk to and I don't really think it would do anything anyway. She told me just to put up with Josh and getting used to the cradle hold on the right side. And she said to get Josh to eat solids first not milk, and to cut his milk feeds down to 4 a day.

Well I "think" I have worked out what is upsetting Josh. I have been eating rice wafers since I started WW and that has been as long as Josh has been upset. So i'm taking them out of my diet (its going to be hard) and see if he improves. Then at least I can say to my dr what I "think" is upsetting him.
