I have used MCNs with Isaac for almost a year now and he's had no rashes. Ethan was getting a nappy rash every couple of weeks (a really sore red one) for about 4 months. We haven't used cloth nappies with him for a few months now and haven't had one nappy rash..... something to think about. Everyone says that MCNs don't cause nappy rash, but they did in our case.

I had to take him back to the dr again just before. I rang up and asked to see our dr that we see and was told he's fully booked.

So I told I have to see him as we have been seeing him for the past week about this issue and its a follow up. So she tells me come down and we'll get him in. I take him down we go in and see the dr. I take Josh's nappy off and he screws up his face and wonders what the hell is going on with his butt. Walks off and is gone for about 5-10 minutes while Josh is laying on the bed screaming in pain. Dr comes back and tells me that I need to keep all poo, urine etc off his skin - easier said than done.

So now we are on the 3rd different cream - this time an antifungal cream and Josh also has silicone put on his butt. That is going to stop anything going on his butt. I'm not allowed to use wipes, cloths, anything on his butt only water. So to clean any solidish waste off him I have to shower him - which I have been doing anyway so much nicer for him.

I have to take him back on Monday to see if we have an improvement - i'm so hoping we do. Tomorrow will be interesting when we are out for the afternoon, i'm hoping like crazy that he doesn't do poos.

But a good thing he is back to eating 3 solid meals a day, but still heaps of milk and i'm not worried about the amount of milk he wants to drink.

I had to take a poo sample to the lab tonight as after 1 week the dr so doesn't know what is going on in there. He could here is moving around a lot. Even thou if we get a result from the lab there isn't anything we can do as he is too young to take anything to stop the pooing. So now instead of wiping his bum I take him straight to the shower and clean him there - so much nicer for his bum. The dr said its going to take a good 2 weeks for him bum to clear up. If one good thing has come out of it, I ain't using disposibles anymore. I washed my Petite Fuzzi's and Josh goes to bed with one of them on stuffed with a lot in there. Now I just need to get rid of my left overs.

Our doc said two weeks ago when she got this ear infection that he would be monitoring it and wanted to check 3 weeks on that it had cleared. And now this. Hers has flared up and she is on stronger ABs so we will be seeing him once this course is over. It's funny, I was just mentioning that to DH on the way to City Docs yesterday (I knew her ears were still infected) and he hadn't really heard of grommets before - then when we were in the waiting room Health TV was showing an animated illustration of what grommets are and how they are put in. Quite interesting timing!

She's just a few months older than Andrew though, until when do they usually have grommets in for do you know? (e.g. age 5?)

He is a finger food boy not a feed with the spoon boy. So last night I gave him some bits of banana and they were eaten. This morning for lunch I gave him some cooked carrot sticks and more banana and that was eaten as well. He has been sucking on rice crackers as well so he has by passed the baby food and gone straight to feeding himself. I'm going to try "baby food" at dinner time and start at the beginning with the same food over and over again to get the taste.

Sounds like your little man is just ahead of Miss Kryssi. She is only just sitting now without support, and for a good few minutes etc. She easily rolls from sitting to either her back or tummy when she's had enough, without hurting herself etc. Yay! She's been a bit grizzly this week, one tooth has come through and the 2nd isn't too far away. We're getting our 8-10m check in the next couple of weeks and I can't wait to see how heavy/long she is nowadays! Kahtrell has 2 bottom teeth now and four of his top ones are looking like they're gonna break through so he's been a bit grizzly on and off for the last couple of weeks. He's sitting up by himself good enough for me to leave him there for long periods of time, which is great, dont have to worry about putting cushions all around him now lolz. Still not crawling, he's on the verge though so I'm guessing within the next month or so.
