I’m 31/F, my parents divorced when I was 6 and I’ve been living with my mom since then.

For the longest time, I felt I wasn’t able to do a lot of the things I wanted to eg, work/move overseas, travel often because I felt I needed to be there to take care of my mom. Also in my culture, children are encouraged to take care of their elderly parents

Now that I’m in my 30s, I might be settling down with someone in the near future and am considering to move overseas as well.

How do you guys deal with having to leave your single parent alone but also wanting to pursue your own dreams and goals?
