It's not very pleasant, is it?

I found that not only was my tummy quite swollen (sp?), it was really unpleasant having anything (such as a waistband) sitting on it - which is why I opted for the preggy pants. My skin seemed to be really sensitive. I couldn't get away with gym pants at work, but no one noticed the difference with the preggy pants.

Make sure you take care and rest up - I found that when I started to feel better, I was inclined to do more, and usually ended up curled up with my wheat sack again with my husband growling in the background So, don't make that mistake!

Oh, and a wee tip - depending on what your periods were like before AF (eg. light/medium), be prepared for it to be *very* heavy when it arrives after the op. Yeah here i was being a smart ass saying to the above 'oh i have a couple of skirts on the loose side they should be ok' - YEAH RIGHT!!! Tried on all three this morning when getting ready for work and none fitted, didn't even come close to zipping up. I ended up wearing a pair of new 3/4 gym pants to work, looks like i'll be casual all week.

Absolutely mellybelly!!

It's good that you didn't suffer with the endo prior to having it removed - that's also probably why your surgeon got such a surprise to find it there. Mine went in knowing it was there (I had 9 out of the 10 main symptoms of endo!), just not knowing how extensive it was, or where it was.

Leading up to the surgery i have had no symptoms of Endo ie no cramping or hideous periods, am hoping that is how it will stay but am not too sure it will - oh well at least i am prepared - thanks.

Have a wedding to go to on Saturday thankfully my dress i am wearing is a floaty type dress that flares from under my chest. As for work on monday am hoping a couple of my skirts will do, they have been a bit on the loose side so here's hoping....might need to try them on this weekend before work on monday.

I'm thinking of you mellybelly and it's really good that they found the endometriosis - now, you have a reason to pin things on. The gas pain is absolutely horrible isn't it? I found that the pain was there for a few days and then went away ...then after a week or so when I started to move around quite a bit more, it came back for a day or so. Bleh!!

Endometriosis was more than likely the reason for your miscarriage as well, which is really terrible, but at least you know (I am saying this not to sound flippant, but because I've been there, and it's how I felt).

The photos are quite disgusting - I looked and mine and thought ... 'My insides look like *that*? Eww!!' Who did your surgery by the way?

A word from the wise though - your first period will more than likely be completely hideous, and it can take a few months for things to settle down again, especially depending on where the endo was. I found that last month, my 3rd period after the surgery, things had improved leading up to my period, and I'm hoping that this month things will be better again.

I'm really glad that your tubes etc were all good - it sounds as though you are in exactly the same place I am with my endo. It was there, now it's not, everything else is in good working order, and it's just a case of getting over the surgery and hoping for a baby.

Ok, here are the results.....Went in for Op on Tuesday morning, the specialist was expecting to go in and find nothing unusual, but I gave her a bit of a suprise by having a considerable amount of Endometriosis in my abdomen! Luckily she has managed to remove it, but boy is it painful, definitely feeling better today and what is with the sore shoulders - gas releasing.... Anyway she also injected dye into my uterus and tubes and all is A.O.K there, all in good working order.

I have an appointment with her on Wednesday where we'll hopefully get a little more information on where we go now and also get to look at the digital photos she took....looking forward to that show and tell session...not although i think DH is..??

Am sure the surgery will give us some answers - am pleased we went ahead and booked it for this coming week.

finished off a fantastic week on Friday by falling down the front steps - can laugh about it now but wasn't impressed yesterday. Not too many bruises so far, but should end up with a pearler on my butt!!

Hey Ginger - thanks for the support, we are nearing the end of cycle.....27!!! We did conceive in April, but unfortunately m/c in June so we know we can do it....

Was a bit annoyed with my mum on thursday, she knows we've been trying and having problems - I keep asking her if there are any known problems in the family, answer was always NO. Now when i start talking about possibly needing to go on Clomid she says she was on it when trying for number 3!!!arghhh!!!! Also not sure how long during the 7 years between me and my brother they were trying for but it seems there could be a family problem here.... might need to delve a bit deeper if she'll give me the answers.

I'm right there with you mellybelly. Al and I have been waiting for 18 months, and cycle 19 started for us last week. I had my surgery via lapro in Sept, and to be honest with you, it can take some getting over. I'm still healing after mine - though I had endo on my ovaries and sticking to my bowel, so it was a bit tricky.

I'm like you - I had plans, and I was completely lost without those plans.

just all work out as it was planned.

I think there are a few of us in this boat at the moment. I am one of those people who likes to plan things and expects those plans to work out - but of course they don't. Anyway, as i said in another post we are booked in for Lapro/hyster on the 12th unless we get good news before then. of course i was hoping we'd get the good news so i didn't have to go through the whole surgery thing - was feeling a little ick on friday had butterfly/bubble kind of feeling in tummy, got a little hopeful but today i have woken to the dreaded light brown spotting.....and on day 23??!! My last two AF's have done this, never before my m/c did this happen. I guess it is just a waiting game now till AF appears and i suppose it is a good thing that we are booked in for surgery.

Anyway, thanks all for listening, sorry if it is a bit of a doom and gloom poor me post but i needed to get it off my chest.
