Hannah and Briona have been bathing together almost since Bria was born, and Hannah hasn't got them so obviously is ok (but I think she had one when she was really little). I thought they were related to her ezcema but perhaps not. I have to take Master 13 to get his ear sorted out - before we fly- so was going to ask about her spots at the same time. Would really like to get rid of them fast for her since she already has ezcema to deal with. Not bothering her. they are on her upper arm, armpit and around her nipple on the same side (only the left side) It been a couple of months since she has had them and at first they did go really red - thought it was her ezcema in a different not been seen before form.
Will keep you posted if the Dr has any other advise for it.

Got quite a fright as they were along my bikini line. i thought it was ingrown hairs. I was so embarrassed as i read in adults the can be sexually transmitted and I had been away from DF for a few months.....but TOTALLY faithful. Then the doc mentioned you can get them from swimming pools and towels etc and Ihad been backpacking through dodgy youth hostels in Europe. Oh yay!!!! anyway mine went away after a few months...but DF still has the odd one. I think I picked at mine and that may have helped.

Apparently most people get some kind of infection of them as kids and I mustn't have so had no immunity.

Have you tried a dettol/savlon cream for starters, to see if that helps soothe them?

And as for school, I bet they are a huge embarrassment but perhaps if you could equip her with some information on them to help answer the questions and comments she gets. She has had one on her wrist for months but the ones on her face/neck are pretty recent. Doc says they usually take 9 months to disappear and they can treat the face ones if they seem to be getting in the way or whatever. I have no idea how she's got them, but the fresh outbreak came when she was already sick so I guess the immune system has been trying to beat it all this time.

How are you getting on with them meow?

It mostly affects infants and young children but it may also affect adults.

It appears as small, firm, flesh-coloured bumps with white waxy centres. These can appear anywhere on the body but are common on the genital area, thighs or lower abdomen, and warm moist places such as the armpit.

What are the symptoms?

Molluscum contagiosum is usually painless but it can sometimes be itchy, especially if the bumps get infected. Without treatment, they can persist for six months to two years. Most clear up within one year.

People with infections that cause immune suppression may have problems with molluscum contagiosum being widespread and less responsive to treatment. Lesions may also last longer in children who also have atopic eczema.

How is molluscum contagiosum transmitted?

Molluscum contagiosum is spread by close skin-to-skin contact. Transmission may be more likely in wet conditions, eg. when children bathe or swim together. It may also be possible for it to be transmitted via clothing or towels, and it can be spread from one part of the body to another by scratching.

How is it treated?

Treatment is for cosmetic reasons. Molluscum can be removed by using a sharp toothpick to remove the centre core or by freezing or burning the lesions.

Let me no if there is anything else you want to no
