If you have a smartphone you can get apps these days that let you take your own passport photo. I work in a pharmacy, my suggestions is make sure it is done just after baby has had a sleep and had a feed. Make sure the pharmacy has something to lie the baby down on, ie a baby blue blanket. Babys mouth needs to be closed (so not ideal if they have a very congested nose) and a gentle blow on their face usually makes them close the mouth just for a couple of seconds for us to take a photo. (and their eyes widen a bit as well)

My baby was a similar age when I applied for his passport. I took my own photo of him at home. The NZ Passports office has guidelines and tips for taking your own photo: http://www.passports.govt.nz/Passport-photos---children

I then uploaded the picture to www.frogprints.co.nz, who converted it into a passport sized photo for $8, and posted out the prints within a couple of days.

I might add that before I ended up doing all this, I actually took him along to a pharmacy and had his photo taken for $15, but I wasn't happy with the photo!

Can anyone recommend a place in Auckland to get good passport photos for baby. My LO is 4 mths and I'm dreading trying to get a suitable photo.
