We have a little half size dishwasher now and it's actually pretty good - can fit a 6 piece setting in plus all our glasses/cups..it's a Baumatic?

Yes but I have a F & P dishdrawer - and it leaves gunk in the cups in the corners! I shouldn;t have to wash the dishes before putting them in ..t

Do check the childproof function. The F & P is good in that a child pressing buttons can do nothing. Our old LG we had to turn off at the wall. or DS kept on setting it going. That was fine, but at the ILs place the power switch for theirs is inaccessible

We had the original prototype F&P dish-drawers - they were awesome!
Have had a few different ones over the years (Westinghouse and Haier) and they've all been fine, but I do third taking along your plates to check they fit!! We have got a FP double dishdrawer and wouldn't be without it. We had one at our old place and it was a godsend

I have a haier in the new house, and hate it cause it doesn't have enough space for the cups (and wine glasses) and I'm not sure its good at drying. Altho the buttons are consealed on the top of the door which is good for toddler fingers...By the looks of it is a the cheap Haier model.

We had a westinghouse at the last house, it was recommended by consumer (about number 2 on the list I think) Loved it, quiet, fitted all the dishes and washed/dried them well/fast too. It was supposed to have childproof buttons, which while they didn't start the machine, still beeped, so DS loved to push them and make it beep. Sorry don't remember the model it was a year or so ago, but it was about $1300.

Definately agree bout taking you plates. My advice would be when you go along to a shop to look at them, take one piece of every type of your dinner set.
