I have one who WONT dream feed. Today has been better and he has taken the bottle back for me at the last two feeds!!! Yay, so hoping things are on the improve. Wow, this is exactly like my little girl too! She has a little appetite and if i take the bottle away she will not take it again, no matter how hungry she is! She made a huge improvement after 2 trips to the osteo, and spacing out the feeds to 4 hourly. Also, have you tried a dream feed? My bubba will take her biggest bottle of the day at the 10 pm dream feed. Thanks for that Aroha. We have gone up a teat size as well and I am trying for 4 hours between bottles. The other thing I remember we did was go up a teat flow... don't know if that will help. We also went from 3hrs to 4hrs between bottles that worked as well. Just been to the Plunket Family Centre and they have seen how he won't take the bottle back. Didn't cry after the bottle and burp this time but got worked up when she tried giving it back. She agrees he seems to be drinking only a small amount at the moment but has had a good weight gain in the last month. She has just suggested I keep recording what he is drinking and monitor it. Also to try and have a 3-4 hour gap between bottle like he is. We had similar problems with our little one as well - once he started drinking it was a matter of 'do nothing make no noise and fingers crossed he will finish' in order to get him to drink a bottle. We are thinking that he does. He is currently on gavison and dr is trying other meds as well at the moment. Yes, he stops himself and then won't drink any more. Sometimes will just sit there happily for about 5 minutes and then just starts crying! Does he have reflux? So are you meaning he stops for a burp and then won't drink anymore? It does sound like silent reflux and he is bringing up acid when he burps so it is hurting when he tries to drink again. Due to intolerances I have had to put my little boy onto the bottle. He has been having it for almost three weeks now. The problem we are having though, is he refuses to take the bottle back, whether he has drunk 50mls or 150mls (the other morning would only drink 90mls after 6 hours). At the beginning, he would take it back after protest and there have also been times when he has taken it back 30mins later and finished the feed. Now it seems he just refuses to take it back at all and on the odd times he does he cries as he sucks and gets very worked up. We might get one good day every so often when he will drink a decent amount and then he goes backwards again. Has anyone else had experience like this before? We did with our first but once she was on the right formula and reflux meds she came right. I am feeling this time though that people are just thinking, 'oh here they go again' and like it is all in our heads. I find I don't want to take him anywhere especially if he is going to be due for a feed while we are out.
