I don't get AF on my own but breakthrough bleeding from the pill was only ever very light spotting. Have had a few episodes while medicated that have had big clots and not much else but wicked cramping. As it was such a change from "normal" I checked with FA and they said it was all normal. But if you are worried I think it is worth mentioning to your nurse or specialist. I felt a wee bit embarrassed at first but have discussed all manner of TMI now so now no shame left in that department.
Hope that helps.

    Author: BeanieG
Subject: 41800
Posted: 27 March 2012 at 4:53pm

Hi Ladies,

I am a little worried about my AF, and was wondering if anyone else has had the same as me and got pregnant?

A bit of background: We have been TTC #1 for over a year and have just started IUI cycle #2 with Clomid. DH spermies are really good, I have had a lap - no endo and tubes clear. DH = 28, me = 27. I usually have a shortish (26 day) cycle and a very light AF but painful cramps.

So 2 months ago (before first IUI) I went to the acupuncturist to help our fertility. He saw me about 3 times and put me on herbal pills to help my cycle, he said he was working on my blood flow as my AF is quite often brown with a few small clots. So that month after seeing him AF was a nice red colour, no clots or anything. Then this month I didn't go - just pretty busy and it's an hour round trip - and the IUI didn't work and then I noticed AF was really brown with a few big clots...kinda freaked me out.

I guess it could be my body trying to get used to the drugs or whatever, but I am wondering if this is normal or if anyone else has this issue? And also should I go back to the acupuncturist and actually commit for longer (I know it's not going to fix me in a month)- if I do I won't be able to go on the herbal pills due to IUI drugs etc.

Sorry for the novel, I'm just a little stressed about it and really want to give IUI the best chance to work...
