They put a *huge* smile on my face!

I feel really silly at the moment - as I went to sleep last night, I was thinking preggie thoughts and I realised that I'm hoping again like I haven't hoped since I was first TTC It'd be amazing if it happened like that for us too

Well, we'll soon see! Another couple of weeks and I'll either be leaping around (carefully!) with joy ...or swearing like a sailor over a box of tampons!

I said to my husband and a good friend the other day that my hope is probably particularly bad this month because I have to fly to Christchurch for an all day business meeting, and then attend a huge xmas function that night, and murphy's law is that I'll be violently ill with M/S and have to either suffer through, or chuck in the towel! It'll be particularly great since I'm relatively new in my job, and they'll be completely pi**ed if I get myself up the duff this quick. Hehe. So, it'll either be this month or next! PLus, I bought some *fabulously* cool and hideously impractical summer shoes the other day, which I *won't* be able to wear with huge swollen ankles ...so that means that I'll get preggers too. Really, I have everything on my side! Hehe.

I hope that your sister's baby is healthy and strong, and doing well, despite it's early entrance into the world

Oh, and DanD...? I'm not too sure how I hijaked your thread, but I'm *really* sorry!!

My friend recently had her op like you ginger and she got preggie the next month, wasnt even trying yet but she was told that the first 6 weeks i think it is after the op is an extremely fertile time. Also my sister had her biopsy and was told to wait 6 weeks before doing the deed, but didnt and still got preggie straight away, she didnt even realise she was preggie cos she didnt think it would happen so fast. Both were due within days of each other which was a funny coincidence but my sister had her baby last week at 28 weeks gestation. Anyway my point is anything is possible and i hope you get preggie soon. Good luck

It'll come in very handy for going to the fertility clinic next year (presuming nothing interesting happens in the meantime!). I have great cycles though - around 28 days, on the button, and I tend to ovulate smack in the middle as I should (go me! If only I could actually conceive something with it ...! ).

I think I'm just having a settling down period, so to speak. Surgery was 12 September, so things are still healing internally I imagine.

You'll have to excuse me running off now ...it's home time!! WOOPPEEEEE!!!

Thanks for all your input Jess - I think I'll be getting quite serious about this business next cycle!

Like period pain, but it only lasted for about 10 minutes or so I guess. Perhaps it was ovulation? I'm not sure - things have changed for me since my op. Normally ovulation is a series of little sharp pains over a couple of days. I had something like that on Monday - though it was more like pain at the sites of my op (where the cuts were) - they just suddenly started hurting, and then it went away again.

Maybe I'm broken ...booo hoooooo!!!

I'm supposed to be doing it, and it's been explained to me time and again what I'm looking for, but I just don't seem to be able to see it!).

Author: Guests
Subject: 4108
Posted: 18 October 2006 at 11:27am

Hey DanD im Jessika from that side

The best thing for you to do is sign up at www.fertilityfriend.com then go to a chemist or here www.baby4you.co.nz and buy an ovulation thermometer also known as a BBT thermometer.

Now when it comes to charting you need to be pretty consistant, you have to take your temp at the same time every morning before you get out of bed (i bold that coz this is the one BIG mistake people make with charting)

What you have to look out for is a temp rise that is at least 0.2 degrees and this will signify ovulation. You also have to watch your cervical fluid it will generally go:

After your period: Dry (nothing)
During your yellow phase it can change from creamy (resembles a lotion), to watery (pretty self explanatory) and then Eggwhite (yep u got it looks like eggwhites)

The watery and eggwhite phase are when you are the most fertile and this genuinely happens just before you ovulate. Your temp may take a nice dive just before you ovulate and that is the best time to start doing the deed, (if you want to be more serious ask me about the sperm meets egg plan). Once you see your temp shift up higher by 0.2 degrees or more then you have ovulated, you can have sex on this day as it is classed as your day of ovulation it gives the sperm an extra chance because the egg only survives for 24 hours. Sperm can live in fertile fluids for upto 5 days. Hence your most fertile for 5 days before you ovulate and also on the day of ovulation.

I know this is probably alot to know but if u have any questions dont hesitate to ask, ill help ya out If you also want information on OPKs (ovulation predictor tests) let me know and ill also fill you in on those

Just remember that its best to keep in mind that the first couple of charts will be about getting to know your body and when you genuinely ovulate. Dont expect that it will happen on day 14 like they say, mine vary from day 13 - day 28ish.

Edited by Jezsika
