We have the same problem with MIL, the problem we have though is that she gives too much (like several rubbish bags full of stuffed toys and dolls, really excessive).
We donate it all to op shops/charity and if she ever asks where something is when she visits (luckily she only visits about once a year!) I will just tell her it's at my mother's place so the girls have toys to play with out there

I also agree with you about those dolls- no way I would let Ella have them either. Ella has a couple of princess barbies, but I am VERY pricky as to what sort of clothes they can have

I was going to suggest the Kmart wishing tree as well

Kmart wishing tree here! I bought something for Dps little cousin (7yo) he was obsessed with Ben10 but now informs me he isn't so I'm giving it to the KMart wishing tree. You could wrap them up & put under a Xmas gift tree for kids that have nothing.

They're both dolls, I think one is called a "moxie" something or other and the other one looks like a barbie of sorts. They're both plastered in make-up and wearing clothing that would be perfectly suitable in a red light district

Its not DD that's the problem - she knows that they aren't things we have in our home and she's really good about it. Its more the best way of getting rid of them.

Throwing in the trash seems like a waste of brand new toys.

We haven't had anything DH or I disagree with as such, but we've had some blimmin noisy toys! The worst one was a microphone thing that MIL bought and it has 1 volume - loud, and it screeches! What do you do when your child receives gifts that you don't want them having?
