My boy had these and I was told that there is nothing you can do and it is better to leave them alone. It was very hard to do so as his were all over his face so I took him to several dr's to get their opinions and they all agreed to leave them alone as they will scar otherwise.
They do go away but they can take a very long time. DS had them for 2 and half years but I think they are finally all gone.
Oh and my younger son never got them and nor did any of the other children I looked after and they had plenty of opportunity to spread so I don't think they are that contagious.

I've heard that treating them with cider vinegar can work.

Both my DD's had it. DD1 was 4 at the time and it took ages to heal, she had them on limbs & tummy but just a few maybe 30spots all up. she did end up getting 2 burnt off cos she kept itching them & itching them and they got infected. the rest took 9months to gradually go away. Sister was 2 when she got it and it was really really bad on her torso but she never itched them, so Doctor did nothing. She also had chicken pox before hand so it seemed to drag on for a year explaining the spots to people when she pulled her top up. So no real remedy to advice, just gotta bid the time and they dont seem to scar except for the bad couple that DD1 itched. Hi there, my little girl has Moluscum all over her body (not limbs thou) and am wondering what i could do to treat it. so far only hydrocortisone but am unsure of long term use. she has had it since about 4-5 weeks of age and was born 7 weeks early so am thinking she has caught it from bath water in neonates? She is now 5 months old and it looks ghastly. not bothering her thou.

any ideas? tips?
