Yes I should get onto it!
As for AF....when my cycle's were longer they were heavier than my shorter ones. I guess there's more build up...hmmmm not sure thats the right phrase!
I wouldn't be worried unless the cramps were curled in a ball worthy or you see some clots.

TMI warning but I finally got AF after having random months since coming off depo in November but it's really heavy, like a tampon in less than an hour kinda heavy. Do you think this is normal after not having a proper period in a while or should I see a doctor? No idea! hey babymachine!
I looked into it when we first started TTC. DH and I sorta had an everyday habit anyway so I went to find out the odds.
It's something like:
Everyday during cycle 35%
Every second day 32%
2-3 times a week 29%
Those are 'UTD chances'

Bunting...my scan is midday tomorrow so i'll come on in the arvo when I have free time to let everyone know how it goes

Welcome Jessi! Yep there's been a few BFP's in here which is awesome, and a lovely bunch of ladies. I hang out in the 2WW most of the time as it's super exciting and everyone is really friendly there too.
Noob - awww stinkers for AF on her way. I'm sure a Jan 2013 baby will be super lucky! Enjoy your Easter. GL for next cycle.
I always say this - but I'm not super confident this time. Have started charting and it is obvious that my body is a bit confused - CM doesn't match with OPK's and they don't match with temperatures. But that's why I am charting so that I can see a pattern if I don't get UTD. I guess it'll take a few months to see a pattern - hoping I don't have to wait that much longer!

AFM - AF is on her way.

I actually thought I might be UTD (I didn't feel too crash hot over the past few days) and my temp dropped below baseline just the once - and now it is back up. However I have some spotting now and AF is due today.

So I'm guessing she'll show up tonight or tomorrow.

On the bright side I can enjoy a nice glass of wine over Easter and feel fine about eating the cold meats and such during Easter lunch with my family.

Oh well, no 2012 baby for me. Maybe I'll have a bub in Jan 2013.

Big hugs to all and lots of sticky baby dust to all those who want it.

It's quite cool going through this along side others.
It's so different when your planning a baby. With DS I just came off birth control a couple of months before our wedding just to see what would happen, and he popped up first cycle! So this time, knowing more about it (when to BD, what symptoms to obsess over etc.) it was so good to have ladies here to talk with. Otherwise I think I would have driven DH insane!

Okay I'm warning you this description may be TMI....
At the beginning of your cycle your cervix is low and sort of hard. (they say like pressing the end of nose). Leading up to your OV your Cervix moves high and softens. So you basically baby dance heaps when it is high. Right after OV your cervix will move low and harden again, so you know about two weeks from then you should test.
You can also monitor your Cervical mucous, but I could never work that out. You can google lots of sites about it though.

Oh your cervix position doesn't tell you if you do get UTD...just when you OV.

I didn't have regular cycles at all before getting UTD this time.
You could try charting to get a better idea. Thats taking your temp everyday first thing. I don't know much about it but there's a charting thread on here somewhere and if you look up the site fertility friend it's really helpful!
Or you could do what I did and just check your cervix everytime you go to the loo. It's a good way to tell when your ovulating, then generally two weeks later your AF would be due. So then you would have some idea about it.

Hello, super excited to be trying for a baby with my Fiance :) will be first child together. Was on the DP Injection for a few years and came off that last year so fingers crossed it hasn't had too much of an impact with getting pregnant. I have had a couple of very light AF's the last 2 months, so hoping that's a good sign that things are working and back to normal. I know it's hard WWHT, but I would suggest waiting til your AF due date to test. I find that a BFN feels worse than AF arriving.

Although of course your getting a BFP this month! I'm so confused! Got all excited as thought AF had arrived (been waiting for the witch so I can try figure out ov and as I stopped depo in November so it's all still up in the air) but it was one day (If that) of bleeding and then nothing! Should I count that as anything? I mean what the heck?! I've had depo a lot before having my kids and in between and I always got back to a normal cycle right away. I've had to go back for some HCG test, so dancing has subsided a little...But I've decided it's just a dating thing as I OV'd later than my LMP would show. At least thats how I'm going to get through the weekend!!!

If you OV over the next few days Bunting you bubba will be due around my birthday! (yes I just checked, hehe!) It would be a great birthday present knowing you had a new baby :) No pressure...

Man I should stop Oh Baby-ing and pay attention to my darling boy, who is being particularly cute.

I've been so busy at work I didnt even think about the extra day in feb, still no AF today and not even any cramping like last month with AF.

Haven't got any tests. Thats what I was thinking; I've usually had 28 day cycles, and this is no 3 off the pill and AF last came 3 days early on Feb 8.

Although DH and I are having a month off - we might do a little BD next week (when I may or may not be OV - I never know these days)

Thanks for the welcome SethsMama, yep I've been hanging out in the 2ww thread a bit; either going to test tomorrow or Saturday, depending on how patient I can be. Though let's face it, could be any day between then as well :)
I don't really feel it's gonna be a BFP this month for some reason but I do have a few symptoms happening so I guess I'll wait and see! Hi all, how lovely to find a little corner of the forum that fits me; DH and I have been trying since Jan this year. Well, we've technically been 'trying' but I am keener for it to happen sooner than DH, he's keen to try but a little bit apprehensive about it all and wouldn't mind a few months of practicing before I get UTD. I'm impatient though, esp through the dreaded 2WW (which I'm smack in the middle of now)

I'm loving reading about how everyone else is getting on - good to know I'm not the only one that gets distracted and a little bit frustrated trying to figure out what my body's up to!

Just to briefly introduce myself, I am 28 and me and DH have been together for almost 10 years, married for just over 2. We've got two cats, and are trying for our first baby. Thanks for sharing n00b - I think it's always good to be reminded to 'stop and smell the roses'. DS is just so awesome that I always think we are so so lucky to have him. If #2 never comes then I think we are luckier than a lot of people.
Wow that was a an impressive effort on the BD - I think I am too old for that kind of carry on! Ha ha! If only I was 20 again ....

Bunting - yes, I have no idea if I OV'd this month either. I tested for about a week when I thought I was due and I got nothing :(

I thought I was going to be really upset if I didn't get UTD this month (we BD every day for 3 weeks straight!)

However trying for #2 is different, this morning I got up and cuddled DD and I felt so grateful that we have her in our life. Trying for #1 I never had that. So although I am a bit gutted and wondering how long #2 will take, I also get to have DD snuggles and enjoy this wonderful little monkey that we already have. YAY!

I have depression (but haven't been on meds for it in years) and one thing I have found that really helps is taking note of a few things every day that I'm grateful for. I even write it down and keep a gratitude journal. Sometimes when I have a long hard day and everything seems to be going wrong it is really helpful for me to change my thinking and find something to be grateful for.

Sorry about the novel.

We were so lucky with our first, we never had the stress of months of trying. I cant imagine having to do that, and charting, I may be a little hopeful but number two is going to come with no worries at all

n00b - I don't know if this would work for you, but you can take your temp after 3 hours of sleep, so you could set your alarm for early (before your daughter usually wakes up), then take it and go back to sleep. You just need a thermometer that remembers the temp, so when you are properly up and awake you can check it and record it then. Am going to have a month off trying and start charting. I have no idea how that is going to go as I will need to remember to take my temp before I get up to bubs in the morning.

We got pregnant last year but miscarried in September, it made me start rethinking everything and worrying so much...

I would kind of like to be trying earlier, I may get bored and do so anyway haha but I think aiming for a 2 year 9 month - 3 year gap is ideal for us. A sept or oct baby would be IDEAL.

Hi Ladies

I'm going to jump on in we were ment to start trying at the beginning of last year but started to look for a new JOb so we are going to start TTC next month so excited I can't wait. My son is now 5 and at school was ment to 2 close together but hasn't quite worked out that way. So hopefully it doesn't take to long to get UTD.

Welcome Amy! I am also dealing with cycle issues coming off just the mini pill so totally understand you! My last cycle was 41 days! (can you imagine how many HPTs I went though )

All the best for a November baby! So it looks like I will put it off to the end of the year, I think I have landed a job. Talking details with them tomorrow. That works for me, another spring baby will mean they can wear the clothes my daughter had (unisex)

Hello, just thought I would pop in and say hi :) going to start TTC whenever my cycle works itself out! Going to buy some OPKs next week and see what the heck is happening. I had a depo shot which wore off November and I know you shouldn't expect to get pregnant within a year of having depo but both my boys and my mc were conceived well within a year of having depo so we shall see! I'm Amy by the way and I was in the TTC threads while trying to get UTD with my youngest :)

So how is everyone going?
Bunting - AF? No AF?
P0ok1e and Bubalys - wow AF sounds awful for both of you. I never had it that bad at all, but I have two co-workers who faint and vomit and have to take at least 1 day off work every time AF turns up.
BDTM14 - I hope DH has gotten into BD more

As for me, I got some foliate yesterday and we have been doing a fair amount of BD

Bunting - I totally know what you mean about thinking "oh my how could I do this with 2!" We have been having a bit of trouble with our little monkey waking at night and all I can think is - how the hell am i going to manage that when I'm pregnant, or will a newborn! I'm just hoping it is a phase and by the time I'm pregnant (and definitely by the time bubs #2 comes, DD will be back to sleeping through the night)

BDTM14 - LOL poor DH. That's so cute. When I got pregnant with DS and called my DH to look at the test - his face was priceless - really happy but scared s***less.

Pookle - bummer that AF is here. Good luck next cycle.

AFM - AF due around now. Don't think I'm UTD though so expect the witch will accompany me on holiday next week. It's funny, yesterday when DS was really clingy and crying A LOT - I thought, how can I do two??? Then today he filled my heart with so much joy that I couldn't imagine not having another! Funny.

Bubalys, that sounds exactly like me! I always had to leave school when AF came; although my mum was pretty hesitant to put me on the pill @13 so I had to rough it out! At least she was always happy to come get me from school when I went into AF meltdown.

Totally glad it was my decision to go on BC when I was ready, otherwise it'll be 12 years on the pill rather than 5. Here's hoping it wont take that long to be UTD so I dont have to deal with this for forever! Pookie I would say its the pill, I was put on the pill when a teen because of the intense cramping I had, always had to take a day of school, vomiting, fainting etc.  Pill fixed it quick smart! oh man that sucks...I had real bad cramping last cycle and I was still on the BCP!
Its O week for me this week so FX all round :) went for bloods today to get iron tested and a few other things too. So hears hoping that all is good and we ca go full steam ahead (which we kinda are anyway)
But it was funny last night (and this maybe a bit TMI - so sorry if it is) but DP and I were mid way through BDing and well he got tired...and then said he was feeling a bit nervous so I asked him why and he said that because the end result could be a baby! Oh man, AF came today and totally took me by suprise!

Firstly, a few days early. Secondly, I'm cramping like no tomorrow. I feel like I'm back in high school and need a nap! It's terrible!

Luckily I'm on a day off today, otherwise I'd really need to leave. Is this just because I'm off the pill now?
