thats quite a triphasic chart, huh? Looks like Ollie implanted on 7DPO and then temps went a bit higher. That was a long follicular phase!
Mine are gradually decreasing, doesn't look like implantation dip :-(.

You can see with my chart with Ollie (the light blue one that goes FOREVER) that my pre implantation was "low" and even my post implantation was erratic and and I stopped temping once I got the bloods done because they were all over the shop even got one under 36.0...

Low temps indicate low prog from memory and if there is a oestrogen imbalance that would make sense to me, but Im not an expert...

Yep, I had seen that website, but hadn't picked up on the testing after af due. Tested on 7DPO (caved/curious) with definitely not FMU, and using the Baby4U OPK's, but nowt biting. Now on 9DPO and pretty sure not worked this cycle :-(. Was our one impatient cycle of trying while STILL waiting for ivf (because I thought I might be able to miscarry in time before the cycle eventuates)

Yeah the idea was to test before using HPT and not 'waste' the HPT (I've only ever had +HPT, I'm going for a hat-trick, don't want to skew the score). I'm not a POAS addict AT ALL, but am fairly impatient person at the best of times. Thanks to everyone who responded, I have read all you replies and assimilated into my own head (must not rely on OPK, is my conclusion)

Second question, if anyone knows, do you know why I have it in my head that BBT temps in the luteal phase should be over 36.5 to support a pregnancy? Will put this in the charting thread too (although I can never keep up there!). Mine are systematically getting lower (below 36.5 now) each cycle and I know my oestrogen is high -CD2 bloods on 2 consecutive cycles show it is 4 times what it 'should' be at that point in the cycle. Shezzey, if you are reading this, you were right 2 years ago!! Well I didn't even know where I was in my cycle as it had been all random and messed up, so I did an OPK which had a line as dark as the control line. So I was like um ok either Im ovulating at a reaaaaly random time for me, or Im pregnant. So I did the HPT the next day and I was pregnant. When I did the OPK, it wasn't FMU it was in the afternoon. I got a positive on an OPK after a BFP on a HPT as I was wondering if it would be positive (I had heard people saying they could be used for both) I was about 8 weeks UTD though I think as this is a bit of a surprise pregnancy! I got a positive on the OPK (very clear) and I then spent the money on the HPT! I tried it and there was a faint 2nd line on the opk (FMU) and a definate 2nd line on the HPT so didnt work on the one instance I tried... I did OPK before HPT with Ollie.. I figured if it was a darkish line (not necessarily darker than the control but darker than it would be normally nearing AF) then I would use the HPT... My OPK was dark, I tested, the HPT was sooooo faint but there. It worked for me and the OPK's remained darker than the HPT for about a week (so from 8DPO - do AF late basically... but I wasnt very sure FF got my Ov right, it was CD58 after all!).

They were david strip OPK's I think, was over a year ago now so a bit fuzzy. I cant remember if it as FMU or not.. probably not, I was being silly so it was a bit of a shock (given the length of my cycle I thought it was going to be annovulatory so wasnt really expecting it).

Its not a definite but I would be more inclined to "waste" a HPT if I got a strong OPK then if I got a faint/no second line OPK.

I know another charter who got UTD the same month as me also got a dark OPK before she tested with a HPT. She was also earlier than 14DPO.

I've only done it for fun after I got a BFP on a HPT, and it did work. Maybe do the OPK and then if that's positive take it as a maybe and do the HPT before you accept it as a BFP. They do work, but I've found it only got darker than the control line around 18DPO. If you go to peeonastick.com it tells you all about it! Some girls on here have used an OPK to test before a HPT. The OPK will go super positive if your in for a chance of getting a BFP.
I wouldnt rely on it but its way cheaper than a HPT

Have you had a look at this link it says you can but I think you can only test after AF is due for it to be accurate.

Anyone used OPK's (the test strips) successfully as a pregnancy test?
(I know, just use a test, right? But I have 25 OPK's and 1 HPT, and I know that HcG and LH are structurally similar - apart from one protein, and its rumoured that you can actually pick up on pregnancy hormone with the OPK)
